Default Hey must stay!!! Hey must stay!!    Show Printable Version  Print   Email this Page  Email

Harambee stars have just lost another match therefore, no world cup and the African cup of nations is just but a wish. What next? Hey to be sacked? Assuming he gets the boot then what? Kimanzi be brought back? That’s nonsense!! This idea of sacking coaches year in year out will just hurt the unity of the team. This is because each coach comes with new ideas therefore reshuffling the team…again! Since Hey took over from Kimanzi, he has made some positive impact on the team. For example, did you see the game against Nigeria, we may have lost but the game we played was more of a European style just like Arsenal right? Hey! Not forgetting we beat Brazil even though we played against tired and old players. My point is that, we need a foreign coach to bring that European flavour in our game play. Our local league’s standard is very low compared to that one to Egypt and south Africa so appointing a local coach won’t help much. The defeat against Mozambique was the fault of our players. The defenders were just goofing around and losing possession. The midfielders played so nervously losing possession almost all the time. There was no flawless passing football at all nor attacking football. Seems to me the moment the players stepped on the pitch, they forgot what coach Hey instructed them. I’m also disappointed with our so called eurpoean based players. What are they doing in their clubs? Are they improving their game? Or are they just living large eating Italian pasta and driving fancy cars. Their place in the national team is always secured, and yet they perform dismally. The solution is for Hey to make the likes of Oliech and Mariga fight for a place in the squad by bringing in talented local players who are willing to work hard. As for our game? I think the national team should play more of English football. The defenders should be ruthless in defending and not allow a striker to dance around them…slide tackle the bastard! As for the midfielders they should be confident, play quick passing football and controlling the ball well. The strikers should just try to get shots on target and not just shooting aimlessly from outside the box. And a little communication with the midfielders would be nice. So let Hey continue with his work, and hope our wish of harambee stars qualifying for the African cup of nations comes true.

Personally i dont think he has done anything of worth to improve our national team, we seem to have got worse since he took over, the last decent game we played was with Guinea before Kimanzi was sacked. the Tunisia one wasnt too bad but it has been downhill since then.against Mozabique at home we were cr*p though we got the three points, the away one i dont even wonna talk about, it was embarrasing coming from a NATIONAL TEAM
