Default Chelsea vs. Liverpool: Mother of all comebacks?    Show Printable Version  Print   Email this Page  Email

Can Liverpool do it against Chelsea tomorrow? Conventional logic says they can't, yet Bolton put 3 past Petr Cech in the space of 20 minutes on Saturday! Liverpool will be primed for attack and Chelsea set to defend with Essien assigned the role of marking SG. But the Reds have Javier Mascherano available this time round while Chelsea don't have JT.

Is this going to be Istanbul'05 all over again? Whatever the outcome, it promises to be one hell of a game for the neutral.

Steven Gerrard has a groin injury by the way so even if he plays he won't be sharp. Anything is possible in this game!

In a phone-in, one desperate Liverpool fan suggested that Benitez stick a large cardboard cut-out of SG in the stands - if he can't play - to inspire the team lol. Talking of come-backs, spare a thought for Bayern who are 40/1 odds to complete the grandmother of all comebacks

i don't see how liverpool can recover, 3-0 against chelsea? come on but it will be one game i don't wanna miss. Bayern are out, even wakitumia juju. as for suffering arsenal fans, they just need a simple win or even 0-0. they should be through.

This promises to be one hell of a match. Liverpool will be looking for that early goal to get them going while Chelsea will seek to lock them out completely. Its a nice setting for an entertaining game of football but the odds are stuck high up against the scousers;they must attack to look for the 3 golas and defend at the same time, given that a chelsea goal would all but seal the tie.

C'mon Beni-torres, make us eat our words...

SG not playing tonight; doesn't even make the bench .... in a 3-4-3 formation with Kuyt, Torres and Benayoun upfront.

Wow...this chelsea/liverpool game is heating up. The ref is not doing a very job in my opinion. Too many calls, instead of allowing play. He also denied Chelsea a clear penalty(foul on Ivanovic).

Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool, what a game! Surely, Chelsea have now done enough to go through?

Yup! But I have to say the defenders and goalies for both teams were poor. 8 goals in such a match is unbelievable.
