a) they are genetic recessive-an inability to retain a certain trait in this case their skin colour white/pink. This means any offspring between a white & a non white ends up in genetically annihalation of the white colour- submission to the darker parent's genes.

black people have the greatest melanin content in their genetic make up as revealed in their dark skin hues.
