Is Islam the only way to Salvation? -

I found this video long ago and it answered some questions I had with Islam. Specifically wanted to know what Islam says regarding people like Mother Teresa and Gandhi dying since they don't follow Islam. Does Islam believe they would not enter Paradise being that they do not follow Islam?
None of my friends could ever satisfy my answer so I dug deeper (as I always do).
So what do others think? Will they enter heaven or paradise if someone is a different religion?
Even Christians...do you think someone of Hindu will enter heaven if they are not christian?

Every Faith/Religion have their own criteria for entering their Heaven or Paradise. If you fail to meet those "cut-off" points, no matter how good you were to the rest of us, you won't make it.
But ultimately, the deciding authority in that Heaven/Paradise will make the final decision.
I know, it's all too relative. But that's what happens when you have too many "Agencies", all claiming to lead to Heaven/Paradise.

Right that is what I want to know...do you as a Christian think someone who worships Buddha and lives a good life will go to hell or heaven? Can only Christians enter heaven?
Now I am going to add....
Is heaven segregated????
Do Buddhist have a seperate heaven from Christians?

Christianity is very clear - unless you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, you can kiss goodbye any thoughts of going to the Christian heaven. It doesn't matter if you're the best person who ever lived. If you don't accept Christ, forget heaven. Why even go to Buddhists. If you are a Christian who isn't saved, you're not going to be in heaven.

I am Catholic/Christian, but I still believe other people go to heaven.

Putting personal beliefs aside (since they ultimately don't matter in the big picture), what does Catholicism say about non-Christians ama non-Catholics going to heaven?
By saying above that your personal beliefs ultimately don't matter, what I mean is people normally tweak religion to suit their own personal beliefs. So maybe you can believe that your god is so good that he would not exclude Muslim and Hindu children from going to heaven. But if your religion believes that those Hindus and Muslims won't be in jail, then your personal beliefs won't make a difference.

ATLian, you struck it on the head. If you ask me as a Christian (like you are asking right now), my answer is well covered in the above summary. Now, that's my faith based on my understanding of scripture. SugarNspice, you have your own understanding based on your religion/denomination.
But ultimately these amount to opinions. The ultimate judge as to who will get there is the Owner of the Place.
Yes, it is my opinion. The bible is subject to interpretation.
There are many interpretations as we all know.
I believe God is forgiving. I am not sure what the "right" religion is, but I think if you live a good life you will see the gates of Heaven...like Mother Theresa and Gandhi...regardless of religion.
I guess what I am asking is your opinion or your interpretation of teachings.
(I know Muhammad_4 will not be able to do this since he does not have an opinion separate from the literal words of the Koran.)

I think you guys really love Islam up there...the minute you saw my title you could not help but run to the thread.
You thought I was going to have a thread about Islam is the only way to salvation.
It is a thin line between love and hate. Admit it...your interested in Islam...actions speak louder then words
(Ni_ what does your name mean...is it swahili? I have always been curious about your name. Are you m or f?)

I wish our opinions would count. Unfortunately the rules are set elsewhere. So, my opinion about who gets to Heaven, really, doesn’t matter. But because you insist, mine is in line with scripture. And this is what scripture says:
“...and without the shedding of blood there is no remission from sin.” Hebrews 9:22
“...and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
So, if we are talking about the ‘Christian’ Heaven, I don’t think you are headed there, just by doing good deeds and bypassing the above requirement. Moreover, the scriptures below have been used to remind us that good works by themselves will not take us far (in the spiritual sense).
"But we are all like an unclean thing, and all of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags" (Isa. 64:6)
“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” (Rom 3:28)
Do we love Islam? It is the hottest commodity in this forum.
You’re funny. My name is not Swahili, but Sheng. A slungy Swahili spoken primarily in Nairobi. It literally means “Things are thick!”
M or F? I’ve answered that one in the past. Check the archives. And are you M or F?
