you know, grip, if conversion is not to be credited or taken seriously, we need to ask these brothers of ours why they saw fit to post the conversion stories of people to islam.
eg in this discussion: Famous Muslim converts(who saw the light)

their prophet's companions converted to islam from other religions. and that's a point of pride for them.
Bilal bin Rabah the Great companion of the Prophet
How the great Sahaabi Salmaan al-Faarisi came to Islam
but now that we're discussing christianity, suddenly conversion is suspect.

can't have it both ways.

That is an interesting point.

So is my Hamza Yusuf (who I boast of) not taken serious?

Here we go again. An argument is only valid if it works in my case. Very strange logic.
