Saudi man accused of having six wives -
07-31-2008, 10:29 AM
"A member of the Saudi religious police has been accused of having six wives at the same time - two more than allowed under religious laws, reports say."
Full article
The sentence I like: "Last month, the Saudi authorities were reportedly considering introducing compulsory pre-marriage courses for engaged couples in order to cut the kingdom's growing divorce rate."
Solution, Muh_4?
Okay!

Your own words, Muh_4: the ban on Drunk driving is the law, it doesn't pretend to be "the only solution."
Laws are in fact always being amended, discussed, dropped, substituted, punishments are studied, evaluated, effectiveness challenged, things put up during elections and referenda, etc, etc. It's an open-minded scenario, unlike your kith and kin's "sword-at-your-jugular" finality approach.
Okay!

hehheh. you've been cornered, muhammad4. you should just change your subject heading to say 'islam provides some solutions'.
you see type r is not claiming that secular law is the only solution. so there's no burden on him to explain why secular law doesn't work perfectly.
now you on the other hand, you've taken on a burden you can't bear.
if islam is the only solution, then why is it that a man whose job it is to overzealously enforce it (the religious police) cannot follow it?
and don't say the newspaper article is a fake. if that bbc article had been saying something positive about a saudi you wouldn't be implying it was fake!

Mjamaa, i thought you'd be watching from the sidelines. Ama the coach put you back in to exploit the opposing team's weakness?
The only "social responsibility" of a Christian is to live, wherever and with whomever he may be, the life of faith, for his own salvation and as an example to others.

Those are wishful thinkings.

Let us we assume that the news is true. But you have these words in the same articles:"The accused denies the women are all currently his wives and says he has divorced two of them".
So the man is ACCUSED not GUILTY.
What I suggest to you is that: follow the case and when the case is over then bring to us the outcome of the case, only then we can discuss it. Isnt fair enough?
