Default Time dilation - 05-26-2008, 07:35 AM

No, not a complex quantum theory of time neither is it the relativistic time travel fiction. I just would like to state my idle time thoughts on waiting and the unproportionality perceived when waiting for different time intervals.

I think the smallest time interval easily coded and decoded by human brain is a second. Now, "give me a second!".

The above waiting period is somehow same (in the mind) with a request, "give me a minute". These two can mean some reasonable waiting period of between one second to five minutes or even ten minutes but not 20 minutes to one hour. That is, it is reasonable to wait for ten minutes when requested to give one second to one minute.

What of give me an hour? Should the same proportion of time be allocated? That is wait for one to ten hours?

That one day may require one day to ten days? And one year should should go for one to ten years?

When time increasingly become macroscopic, a seeming dilation occurs and the waiting can't be justified...

How long should one wait if asked to give one nanosecond?

Just a thought!

I am not a complete idiot...some parts are missing. Anonymous.

When I was maturing, I had a hard time with people who'd say, "Back in 5 mins." The young boy I was, I'd look at my watch, read - say - 2:53 and expect the bugger back at 2:58. Someone coming back at 3:15 would face my wrath!!!

As the years grew by, I learned that "see you tomorrow" could even mean "I hope I don't see you again forever."

"Back in a sec" and some dunderheads leave at 8am and come back at 6pm.

That's a social view.

Another approach could be seen at a personal level. I've found that when I organize my work, I can accomplish more. When I am spontaneous, I am harried and confused and waste mucho time. When I organize and finish my day's tasks by say, 2pm, I often end up confused because I am accustomed to inefficiency. My soul is still anxious and waits for some memory of a task that I have forgotten.

Okay!
So you're Type R?
THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH!!!
