to me this is kind of an academic discussion. i know many ladies who are married to jewish or christian men or atheists. i don't think they consulted scholars about which religion to raise their kids in before getting married.
and kids siku hizi have their own minds. they usually end up figuring out where they want to go regardless of what wazazis want.

What do you mean? this is what Quran says:
Quran 5:5.....The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends...."

Does this mean pork is now ok for Jews and Muslims? Don't just quote phrases and verses, understand their meaning and intent and expound on those, or you will end up being a victim of blind faith.

History told me so. Islam means submission, so don't make a huge deal out of it. Muslim apologists claim Islam did not start with Muhammed but was there even before him sighting the Torah and the Injeel as justification of the continuation. This is wrong, Quran itself ackowledges that people of the book are separate from muslims.

Think about the word “Muslims” means he who submits and surrenders themselves to almighty God, and obeys the laws of almighty God.
Jesus Christ was a Muslim. His blessed mother was a Muslim. Abraham was a Muslim. Moses was a Muslim. All the prophets were Muslims.
