Default Salvation by faith to Faith - 05-02-2008, 07:38 AM

Most Christians will tell you of the lovely feeling they had when they first Got saved..How it felt to have to hose burdens Of guilt lifted, observing miracles, having their prayers answered like that and just a feeling of general Joy...that is until the temptations, persecutions and doubts checked in, doubts whether one was really saved, what happened? Since we Know that God did not change, then what?

In His address to the Galatians Church Paul actually calls them foolish In gal 3.
Foolish because they had substituted faith of Christ with useless commandments, they had no business messing with, as a form of justification in God's eyes. I would have glossed over the passage had I not come to galatians 5 which says that if you are circumcised, (as a testament of obeserving the law) then christ shall Profit you nothing, You have indeed fallen from grace..

I think that having recived the gracious simple but expesinve gift of dalvation, many christians go On to Perfect it by works. Belief in jesus, who is also our righteousness is replace with useless works in the hope of pleasing God.. since faith is replaced with works, the spirit is no longer dominant, but the flesh is.. we find then old habbits creeping in , and we wonder where God went, why he does not hear our Prayers anymore..

Go back to where you fell from ,jesus advises the Churches in reveleation.
You are saved by believing in christ, and that is how you should continue, let belief in Jesus be the aim ,since by the law you were condemned anyway, and you will discover that God never leaves you nor forsakes You

That is one mistake many make when they approach the issue of salvation. Salvation has got nothing to do with feelings for faith is an assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This assurance or evidence is based on the hope and strong belief, the assurance you get, when your dad, mom, employer, etc promises you let's say money, promotions, food, holiday treat etc. It is internally build confidence that the said, talked of event or phenomena is sure and true, and will indeed come to be as said. It has nothing, nothing, to do with feelings.

that is until the temptations, persecutions and doubts checked in, doubts whether one was really saved, what happened? Since we Know that God did not change, then what?

The snares of the devil. When the devil start bringing the ideas of checking in your feelings for satisfaction of salvation, that you should look outward for miracles, for fulfillment of some expectations, and to get twisted into material events instead of focusing on the higher price of eternal life and the promised kingdom, you to start doubting whether indeed you got saved.

Old habits will mean a need to maintain new habits? Don't you think any habits, old or new, equals works?

You should be careful when talking about law, commandments, ordinances, etc when talking about faith, belief, and salvation. Remember Revelations also talks of blessed are they that do His commandments. Also read James etc...where it is defined that faith without works is dead. Actually true faith must be a working faith, or faith that works, instead of a blank, dead, hopeless faith based on feelings.

Marriage is a wonderful Institution. Who wants to live in an Institution?
