Default The sense of ultimate unsatisfaction! - 04-29-2008, 02:07 PM

Dear forum members,

It is my desire that we share on a rather real and confessed part of humanity; the crave and unsatisfation of the heart.

Here the term heart is used to refer to the personal desires, ambitions, dreams, cravings and insecurity associated with them. How do we explain the origins of all these?

Why is it that, somehow, there always remains an infinity beyond whenever any achievement has been done, individually or corporate?

A man's childhood dream may have been centered in becoming a world's reknown Musician. But even after winning numerous International awards and selling billions of copies, somehow the end hasn't been reached.

Knowledge, for example scientific findings, may always seem to have reached a dead end. In the latter part of 19th century physicists declared that no future discoveries were possible, but the concept of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics revealed that actually nothing had been known. This would mean that there is an infinity beyond.

Specifically to the satisfaction of human wants; Is there a need for a Specific human being to be valued at GDP of over 40 countries? What drives humanity to want and accumulate such unused amount of wealth? What would rationally subject the same person to desire more?

Why is there no contentment in man?

maybe that's why there's heaven, where we get that kind of complete satisfaction.

This is not a "man" problem.

Why do trees grow roots? The roots plough through the ground, looking for nutrients, water and strong foundation. They destroy concrete foundations and mess up well-constructed roads. All for what purpose? Where is the tree going? What is its agenda?

Ants run all over the place looking for food to take to the Queen. She grows so fat she cannot walk. Colonies multiply until the have to break up due to overpopulation, forming new colonies in other territories that will expand and break up likewise. Soon there are ants everywhere. So what's the agenda of ant colonization and expansion?

Every living thing has this impulse, drive to just keep going, keep gnawing, keep pushing ... it's the essence of life...

Satisfaction arises from visible steps in progress. The danger in life is stagnation.

Before Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he was content with everything, but the moment he was driven out of the garden of Eden, he had to sweat for him to eat. Ever asked yourself why he had to till land for it to produce food when there were so many trees with fruit? The only thing that God had to do was to remove the spirit of contentment in man and replace it with hunger.

Type R,

Do ants behave as stated after getting what they want? Or in isolation as an individual?

Man accumulates what he can use his entire life span not only for current happiness but also more than enough for his lifespan's luxuries, and nothingness. What will the reachest guy on the planet do with all that wealth?

Ever wondered how our world will look like in say half a millennium or thousand years to come? I’m amazed at the picture I see; it is highly contended that a greater part of what man needs to know would have been known.

We’ll probably not need papers or books, libraries etc because these would have become entirely obsolete. Data and information will be a click of a button away in microchips (if not implanted in our nervous systems). A man will virtually walk into the doctor’s office and select the kind of offspring he wishes to have and that will be done for him/her.

In fact it is feared that since affordable cures would have been found to basically all human ailments, and a good part of the human population been able to live un-aging for as long as they so wish, people will have to ‘ration death’; a family who anticipate bringing forth a new born may be advised to ask granny to give way!!

The effects of certain natural phenomena like global warming will mean that people will ultimately be asking Doctor to give them a baby with more melanin. Man would have gained full control of his destiny.

Some philosophers I have spoken with believe that human driving force has got something to do with Sadomasochism.
