600 years ago after the death of Jesus, the world was beyond comprehension it was dredge in unplesantries it was unholy, in the so called present Europe, it was anarchy and paganism which was running supreme, the Roman empire, the Greeks civilization, all this noble empire exhibited intellectual arrogance of the highest order in terms of spiritual awareness. They excel in other fields like astronomy and to some lesser extent in literature.
The coming of Islam or Quran which was beautiful schematised saw the introduction of many things which benefited the current world.
Without Islam, the world today won’t know about Democracy, previously, there was only conquest and colonisation. During Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), while preaching in the holy city of Mecca, there is one verse in the Quran which illustrate the importance of freedom of worship, it tells the us, the Pagan can pray to whoever they believe in and the Muslims to pray to Allah, equally in the second chapter( Al Baqara) it talk of there is “no compulsion in the religion”. When the prophet pass on, his companion decided to elect Caliph Abubakar, against popular belief that the next Caliph would come from the same clan or family of the Prophet, so without Islam we wont know about free and fair election or freedom of worship.
Without Islam, we won’t be having computers! Believe you me, prior to the revelation of Quran, there was no number zero! The western culture started counting from one, with no one thinking of zero as an entity, me and you we know how computer work with zero, or big sum cant be accomplish without zero, Quran started the word “sufur”…which we know the Swahili word of “sufuri”. To this end we can’t under rate the contribution “Algebra” and his many theories in arithmetic
Without Islam nobody could even think of going or flying past the trees, but alas Quran! in the Sura tul Rahman, it gives the human being the freedom and challenge them to go to the outer space, yet western world talk about flying just in the 18th century, so without Islam they will be no NASA.
Islam introduce and contributed massively on diverse topics on modern medicine, talk of microbial, embryology, public health, the fore fathers of Islam like Avicenna (Ibn Sinna), contributed tremendously on modern time treatment to amazement of many scientist of modern times, his book, is regarded to be an eye opener to many people. We Africans should thank God for helping us in this aspect; otherwise we would be dying like desert locusts.
