How tribalism can be best tackled -
02-15-2008, 12:45 AM
I would suggest that the parliament enact a law that would bring to justice acts of tribal bigotry. I was disappointed by kenyan religious leaders who were polarised along tribal line.

tribalism -
02-18-2008, 08:29 AM
the situation is almost ludicrous..
Even Preachers are filled with so much vermin that It is seems that the devil has really gotten to us tis time..
so long as christians think that their earthly tribe is a better description of them than their heavenly one then we have a problem..
We continue to pray though and know that with this awakening we might start to view ourselves with less division...
In Christ their is neither Jew ,gentile,we are all one

1. Get rid of all human faces on our money!!! no kenyatta, no moi, no kibaki. Every region of kenya to have a neutral symbol of some sort in our money: mt kenya, rift valley
2. Kenya becomes a parliamentary democracy. President rules via the parliament, instead of via self-appointed cabinet. Appointment and sacking of the following will be similar to election of speaker of the house: an all-inclusive mps affair: -
chief justice
judges,
magistrates
provincial administration officers
gsu
chief of staff
attorney-general
police commissioner
cabinet ministers
parastatal heads
eck chairman and commissioners
with a situation like that, it won't matter that the prezzo is a kyuk, luo, kale, miji kenda, unless your mp is a dunderhead and doesn't go to parliament, your needs will be attended to. As it is, roads have been built in central province more than in other places in kenya. As it is, non-cabinet mps are just talkers!!! even the government doesn't require them to aprove budget spending...

It is the devil who has taken over the country as the people of Kenya have been pretenders in the worship of God in truth and spirit. Leaders need to set an example, especially the clergy. They need to call sin by its name and safeguard morals in society. The ones we have in Kenya owe allegiance, first to their tribes, then to the government then to God. Our God is not blind, nor is he deaf, nor is his hand short - and He is swift enough to mete out punishment. I wish we could have true repentance and proper worship. Religious leaders to take their position regardless of tribal or political inclinations and call sin by its name and point it out without hesiation or fear. What we have seen in the country is really apalling. God help us!!!

The face on the money isn't the issue. If it was, then every country with faces on their money would have issues. Also, do you think that having Jaramogi on the 500 bob note would ease the Kyuk - Jang'o tension?
Honestly, do you think Omolo in Siaya would rather get twenty 1,000 bob notes with Kibakis face every month ama tweny 500 bob notes with Jaramogi's face? What's on the note matters zilch, it's all about getting the notes! Heck, the kawaida mwanainchi wouldn't give a fack if the 1,000 bob note had a picture of 2 gay men doing each other as long he had easy and honest access to many of those 1,000 bob notes.
We need to figure out how to alleviate our masses from poverty, and how to have the masses getting bank notes in plenty every month - not what face to put on those notes!

That cannot work. Again, in all developed countries, those are powers that are vested in the presidency, and it's his prerogative to hire and fire people whenever he wants. We cannot destroy a proven method only because we are too corrupt to implement it. We just need to get rulers who will elect the most competent people, regardless of tribe and sex!
