Read the report below;

The current political crisis could have been avoided if the country had heeded a repentance call by televangelist, Dr David Owour.

Machakos DC, Mr John Litunda, said Owuor had called on the Church and the country to repent but his message was dismissed.

"What we are witnessing now has not just come out of the blues. Owuor had pronounced a special announcement three weeks into the election that the wrath of God will come down on the country unless it repented," said Litunda.

The born again Christian regretted that Owuor’s message was dismissed even by Church leaders.

He said Owuor had foretold that Kenyans risked becoming refugees in their own country.

He was speaking at Garden Hotel in Machakos during a farewell party in honour of the outgoing Machakos Chief Magistrate, Mrs Hellen Omondi, now a judge.

The DC said the country needs to organise a "national repentance".

Machakos LSK chairman, Mr Larry Wambua, led the gathering in observing a one-minute silence in honour of those who have lost their lives as a result of the post election violence.

People here in mashada should be honest enough to admit that there has been lots and lots of promiscuity in kenya. Many marriages have been broken, crimes and violence has been too much, many politicians visiting witch docs, and offcourse church leaders abdicating their role as shephards for poitics.

I know we have debated the Free Will thingi extensively on Mashada. I still don't think it is possible to have an all-knowing and all-powerful god co-existing with Free Will.

Well, then I guess no more can be said.

That said, I can understand god giving us free will to chose whether to wear red or blue shoes on Friday, because that hurts nobody. I can't understand god giving us free will to hurt people against their will (like burning the kids in the church).

Then is that will really free? Its like you're trying to model God with the moral standards of most liberals (anything goes, but if you hurt anybody you'll be punished).

To make it worse, any of those kids who died unbaptized (or any kids whose folks were Muslim) will go to hell- while any of those murderous arsonists who says "God I'm sorry" will live forever in paradise. WTF?

First off, unbaptized babies don't go to hell.
Secondly, you are simplifying salvation merely to the forgiveness of sins.
I think i've tried to explain salvation, heaven and hell on numerous occasions in this forum.

Hebu explain. And how do you go about differentiating between the astrology, symbolism and true lies?

WHich bible are you reading?well explain to us also how you reconcile to your conscience after commiting a regretable sin?am assuming that you are human just like the rest of us and therefore susceptible to error.

I believe the reason why the prophets were sent to signal the need for repentance should also tell us something.Yes we are responsible for the problem in one major way,we rebelled and failed to acknowledge our sins.

The devil is not exempted also, because he throws the temptations that lead people into rebellion.Repentance would have been enough to engage the devil in a spiritual fight.
