Default Hope all (plus famos and friends) are sawa - 01-10-2008, 04:41 PM

Guys and Gals,

I hope that the recent chaos didn't affect any of the regular posters here, either through direct harm to your person, close friends and family, or through other stuff like having property looted and burnt down, migrating from areas you have always called home, etc.

I'm sawa, just very disappointed to realize that we are essentially the same as those African countries we used to view as savage and barbaric.

Inherently, we are all savage and barbaric. Most of my relatives are from Eldoret and as such most of their properties has already been destroyed. They have to start afresh with no Raila or Kibaki assistance. A week ago, I was exhibiting symptoms of a raging fury, my adrenaline was pulsating in my veins. Now, I have encouraged them to become optimistic in that they could have needlessly lost their lives and that they can always start again. Life is about the journey of experience and hope.

Atlian

I know this may sound unbelievable.I was in Kenya on vacation. The very day I decided to leave was when a Kenyan police officer shot ma cousin. This young guy had just finished his first degree. He is like ma bro coz I grew up with him.I called back to see how he was doing after arriving, but unluckily he never made it.

Sorry to hear that; it is a shame. What was your cousin doing when they shot him?

Sema everybody.

Was home for vacation but retreated to my grandparents' place in Taita where Kyuks and Luos aren't that many.

Now, time to see what I missed ...

my sympathies and condolences to all of you.
i don't know about most of my family because of no communication. i'm praying for them.

atlian, we kenyans used to look upon ourselves as exceptional africans, but these events are a reminder that at heart we are all the same.
