Default masturbation - 11-25-2007, 09:29 PM

Onan was purnished for disobedience and rebellion NOt for masturbation, and again this was not masturbation.

For you to masturbate you need to do it alone or if with partner ,it doesn't involve sexual stimulation.bUT IN THE CASE OF Onan when you read the passage properly, you observe that he mwagad nje,its like he had normal sex ,only that he didn't ejaculate inside her.

If A equals success, then the formula is A = X + Y+Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut.

The obvious place to start a biblical examination of masturbation is Genesis 38:8-10:
Then Judah said to Onan, “Lie with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother.” (9) But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. (10) What he did was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so he put him to death also.

Come on Bible Reader. I think it's blatantly obvious from the text highlighted in red that what Onan did was coitus interruptus, not masturbation! From what I have read, there is no explicit commandment anywhere in the Bible against masturbation. Since god was so particular in listing out his sins that he even told the Israelites what to wear, eat, etc, I think he would definitely have made a categorical mention of masturbation if it was a sin.

Why should god be against masturation? It's a solo act. It reduces the raging hormones in many men that can lead them to commit sex crimes. Nobody gets harmed in it. No diseases can be passed. Nobody gets pregnant.

Reggie,

which other sins not listed in the Bible are sins? And how do you arrive at the conclusion that they are sins. As in, why are you speaking for god. Don't you think he'd have told us if he thought masturbation was a sin?

Also, are all sexual fantasies sinful? And what happens if you sleep and have a wet dream, is that also a sin?

BTW the way some of you pals talk on this forum regarding sex, it really makes me wonder how you are with your chics and/or wives. They must have a really raw deal, hearing stuff like I can't go down on you coz I don't think it's OK by the Bible, I can't have a fantasy about you coz it's sinful in the Bible. It's no freaking wonder the the number one leading religion when it comes to diovrce is Christianity!!!!!

Default it is a sin - 11-26-2007, 01:37 AM

I agree with Bible reader that the act of masturbation is a sin.Just because some people here do it ,they don't want to face the facts.

When you masturbate you imagine having sex,and the excercise captures your soul, mind and spirit into the act.You become enslaved to it.

masturbation always refers to stimulating one's self for the gratification of sexual lust, or in stimulating one's self sexually while fantasizing about the lust of another person. In impure sexual fantasy, a person uses his own imagination as a pornographic tool to give his body the ability to attain sexual gratification. In reality entertaining lustful fantasy is embracing a falsehood of the heart and mind, in an act of abuse of his own body in order to attain selfish sexual gratification. This is sexual idolatry! God hates falsehood - especially worshipping a false god! This is why God hates impurity in all it's forms
Spporting scriptures:
1.Eph 5:3 (NIV) But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

2.1Th 4:2-8 (NIV) For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God... For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

3.Ro 6:13 (NIV) Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

The biggest problems with masturbation. You're setting yourself up to think about or imagine a sexual partner. This is nothing but fornication of the mind, adultery of the mind and immorality of the mind! All of which is Sin before God.

It was part of jewish culture in times of Moses.Am not sure if they still do it.But even in most african cultures it was there, the elders didn't like the idea of a young wife remaining childess after her husbands dies young.

To me it makes sense given the living conditions and situations in those days.people were living communally there was no urban centres,no schools,no thugs,no AIDs.
