Default "God helps those who help themselves" - 08-10-2007, 03:12 AM

I have heard this popular statement since we were kids, now as an adult have read the bible looking for this quote but without any success.

can someone help me out to find it?

If A equals success, then the formula is A = X + Y+Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut.

It does not exist, but anyway an apologist will come here with "implied" verses.

i'm no apologist, but consider the alternative and see how absurd it is...those 4.0 grades don't make themselves.

May be the author was refering to the verse in which Jesus gave a parable of investment.one person invested well and the other failed to invest.

Luke 16:10
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Luke 16:9-11 (in Context) Luke 16 (Whole Chapter)

I think it Benjamin Franklin is the one who popularised the quote in his 1736 Poor Richard's Almanack. Its not in the bible
