I have no doubt that atheists and die-hard believers of "everything non-God" have a sense of enlightenment and "illumination" since they, unlike us christians, 'are correct in not believing in God'.

According to the Bible, we are all descended from Noah (since only he and his wife and kids survived the flood). Again according to the Bible, Africans are specifically descended from Ham, the son of Noah, through his son Canaan. Google it up or check your Christian pages for the evidence of that since the geneologies are too long and boring to paste here. But Ham being the fore-father of people from the African continent is one thing that is accepted across the board by Bible "experts".

That said, I'm sure (or should I say I HOPE) you know of the story where Noah gets drunk and curses his son Ham, the forefather of all Africans:

GENESIS 9:18-27 - THE SONS OF NOAH

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth. Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father's nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father's nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers." So in a nutshell, Noah gets drunk like a biyatch, staggers around naked, his son Ham accidentally sees him naked, and for Noah's sins he decides to curse Ham to forever be the slave of his brothers. This one verse BTW (Genesis 9:26) is single-handedly responsible for the jungus enslaving miros, and it was the justification for apartheid, since these Christian jungus who are directly descended from Shem and Japheth can claim with Biblical authority that miros are meant to serve them.

BTW, for those miro Christians here who believe that the Bible is in-errant and that it's word should always be followed - do you believe that we should be slaves to jungus like it says in the Bible? I highly doubt that even the most fundamentalist right-wingers here will agree with the Bible on that one.

Since we are Africans, we will all want to defend Africa and think of it romanticly and idealistically, but the truth is too glaring to be missed: Africa is the most jacked up continent there is right now despite it's enormous wealth and potential. The US has a GDP FOUR TIMES LARGER than ALL African countries combined. We have wars and diseases ravaging us all over. Tribalism is the order of the day. We have allowed despotic rulers to send us to the stone age. etc etc etc. I'd like to meet one African who can seriously tell me that he prefers Africa as it is, and that he wouldn't want it to get the sort of systems that a "First World" country has, like excellent roads, education, communications infrastructure, elec supply, health, social welfare, banking and access to credit, security, economy, etc.
