How come we never see any Moslems singing songs of praise to Allah, smiling and just full of joy? You don't have to look very hard to see Christians singing songs of praise to God.

Is it a prerequisite to be mad at the world for you to be a good moslem? How come all we see is Moslems teaching their young kids to hate Jews, Americans, the West, and all Christians? How come we don't see Moslem kids happy to be moslem?

Just once, I'd like to see Moslems singing songs of praise to Allah, while dancing, and a smile on their face. Mbona hasira nyingi?

there's this lady i work with who pleasantly explained to me how when the time comes her parents will pick a husband for her.

Where are you seeing your angry Muslims?

I have seen happy Muslims. In fact, just the other day I saw a documentary on the Hajj on PBS. It followed 3 Muslims, a Malaysian, a South African and an American. The American was the most interesting one, because she was from Texas, of Irish descent, born and raised Catholic and then she converted to Islam. She was a neurologist.

As I watched the documentary I couldn't help but admire the passion these people had. They truly were so into the Hajj and Hajj rituals and prayers, introspection etc. It was moving.

In Nairobi I had lots of happy Muslim friends. I remember my mom's friend and his wife came home for dinner once, he treared his wife with such respect, and she regarded him with willing submission. Another jamaa I knew, we could never get that man to do lunch on a Friday! Never! He went to the mosque. Then once he fell ill during Ramadan and had to break fast coz he was hospitalized. While people were celebrating Eid, out of his own accord he chose to extend days of fasting to make up for those he missed.

You don't see happy Muslims because right now the media doesn't rake in ratings by showing happy Muslims. The regular down-the-street ones esp in the USA have faced so much discrimiation since 9/11 that they can't wear their scarves let alone sing praise to Allah in public,where some bigot is chillin...

That is really encouraging! It is so hard to come by any happy songs, religious songs, and generally upbeat news about Moslems.

QUESTION: Are there any Islamic songs in any other language than Arabic? Any English songs? We have no idea what they are singing about. For all we know, they could be singing "Death to America!"

This is what I'm talking about. Christian songs that will have you on your knees at 4:00 am praying for forgiveness, and just happy to know Jesus!

jeeez,I have meet lots of idiots but this is the most idiotic person Ive come across in recent times.
