"You need to repent before God lets his wath pour on you.Like somebody mentioned in another thread John Lennon died for saying something he shouldn't have said about the son of God. You could be next. And this I have been inspired by God to tell you."

Your god sounds nasty. First, give us proof the bugger exists.
John Lennon was killed by a lunatic fan. Did your god pull the trigger in NYC?
These silly arguments to accept the belief in a non existent being out of fear don't work.

Great point Wajibu. There's nothing as great as a man who does good when he has absolutely nothing to gain from it, or when there's no fear or ulterior motive driving him. If you give charity because you want to, not because the Bible commands you to, I'm sure you're more noble.

>Christians have this thing called prayer
>and forgiveness which is misconstrued and basically a copout.
>Repentance in a man's heart for a wrong done would cancel and
>annul any sin,

Let me paste something I wrote way back when under the subject "Amy Sue Seitz, and the only unforgiveable sin" on

http://www.mashada.com/forums/index/...8114/index.php

"This is a very sad, but true story. Some psycho called Theodore Francis Frank kidnapped Ms. Amy Sue Seitz. He forced her to drink alcohol, raped her repeatedly, then tortured her horribly with a pair of pliers. He squeezed both her nipples in the pliers with such force that her nipples were left as flat as a paper. Then he peeled off her skin with the same pliers while she was still alive. From there he punched her head repeatedly and with such brute force that her skull cracked in numerous places resulting in a massive brain hemorrhage. Then he raped Amy again and again and when he was satisfied, he strangled her to death. He then threw her body into a trash heap on his way home. Some guy's dogs then found the body and ravaged it some more before their owner realized what the meat being ravaged was, and called the cops. Theodore Francis Frank was 43 years old, while Amy Sue Seitz was a 24 month old, 32 pounds heavy, 32 inches tall baby girl!"

Theodore Frank was obviously a monster. He was sentenced to death in California, but he died on death row in 1993 at age 66 after about 21 years in prison. Like Wajibu points out above, maybe Franks accepted Christ and prayed to god for forgiveness before he died. Since that's the only requirement to go to heaven, maybe Franks is currently sitting in heaven with Angel Gabriel and Hitler (if Hitler also prayed for forgiveness before he died). The irony is, since Amy Sue died at 2 years old before she got saved and baptised, she is currently in hell coz she had original sin in her!

Again, I am not a bad person. I do not trespass on anybody's rights. I do not steal, murder, rape, etc. Assuming that god does exist, the only thing wrong with me is I use my god-given brain and intellect to question what doesn't make sense to me. But according to Christianity, I will go to hell while Theodore Frank will go to heaven. How can that be rational? How can you convince me that god is so forgiving that he will reward Franks with eternal life despite what he did, while at the same time being so irrational and vindictive that he'll punish me and every good Muslim and Hindu because we didn't believe in him. How can the wisest and most intelligent being ever use only ONE condition/requirement (getting saved) as the basis of who gets to enter heaven or not. How can he be willing to overlook what evil the Theodore Franks have done as long as Franks believes in him - and then be willing to overlook the good other people have done only because those people don't believe in him? That just makes absolutely no sense to me, none at all. I refuse to believe that if there's a god that he's shallow enough to overlook the things that really matter.

You make it sound like only atheist have free will. Did it occur to you that I chose to believe? The reason I talk much here is because I came to Christianity on my own free will. I was not told by my mom or dad to. I chose to become a christian 3 years ago and that was my will. I walked to several churches till I found one that I liked.
I know there are people who hide behind religion and a few that are forced by parents but how rare is this at this age. EXcellent example: how did you become an atheis? I really don't know why you think that one can't choose to be Christian. By the way, I had a cousin in Kenya who woke converted to Islam.
Sure we do have free will. We understand constraints of Christianity and chose to live by them.
I would only agree with you if I were 10 years old and forced to go to church. Even today 10 yr old refuse to go to church or even be Chrisitan

A GOOD Christian really doesn't have free will in the true sense of the term, he has free will only in the realm of what is defined as good in his religion. i.e. as a Christian, there are things you are compelled to do and other things you are compelled not to do in order to qualify as a good Christian. In other words you're bound by the rules and dogmas of your religion. Your free will is limited to you doing what is acceptable in Christianity. If you do anything else, then you jeopardize your chances of going to heaven. There are many things you'd do if you weren't constrained by Christianity. That's why I think that the free will of a GOOD believer only goes as far as his religion allows him to. As an atheist, I'm not compelled by such things. My free will truly is free.

Well, congratulations, because you are in a very small percentile of the population. It's an undeniable fact that most people believe what they believe in MAINLY BECAUSE they were born into that religion. Therefore when you say that most people didn't choose their faith, it's a true statement.

>EXcellent example: how did you become an atheis?

By questioning what didn't make sense to me, and not hiding under apologist answers that didn't make sense at all.

If God knows everything then that overides free will. He knew from the beginning i would be an atheist.
