>I asked numerous questions but you answer my questions with a
>question. Anyway, what you ask can not be asnwered in a YES/NO

I refrained from answering your questions, because as I pointed out in my initial response, they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Unless you're a moral relativist (which I think you'd find difficult to reconcile with Islam), this situation is rather simple It is either a Yes or a No, what was Immoral yesterday is still immoral today, irrespespective of how many people thought/think it is moral. You asking about the culture at the time is irrelevant in this regard, because culture has nothing to do with the morality of an act (unless you're a moral relativist)

So I ask you, are you a moral relativist?
If not, then give me a 'yes' a 'no', or 'I don't know' as to whether it is ok for a grown man to sleep with a 9 year old.

If you are a moral relativist, we shall continue from there, because then I'll have a whole new set of questions to ask you

I believe jack straws comments have been hijacked to attack muslims. what he meant was they can cover their heads but should not cover their face. there are 2 types of veil. ya kuchungulia na ile ya headscarf.

this is the one he supported

i support his comments. if muslim women are to communicate effectively, they should not hide their faces.

whats more, i believe the hijab is a form of opression of women. they were not meant to be heard. kama mono's.

Theres the hijab and the veil (bui bui style). I dont mind the former but i do agree with Jack Straw with a veil a person does indeed set barriers for herself for example when it comes to getting jobs most of the veil wearing women are either house wives or work in family businesses. People's facial expressions matter when it comes to conversations so i understand when people say they dont feel comfortable talking to such people! And this is what Jack Straw meant by promoting community relations although now his comment has been twisted to indicate other things!

I understand that in the Koran nothing to do with the veil is mentioned so i dont think its an obligation to people of the muslim faith to wear it rather a choice people make.

Potent symbol
The word hijab comes from the Arabic for veil and is used to describe the headscarves worn by Muslim women.

These scarves, regarded by many Muslims as a symbol of both religion and womanhood, come in a myriad of styles and colours.

The type most commonly worn in the West is a square scarf that covers the head and neck but leaves the face clear.

Conservative choice
The niqab is a veil for the face that leaves the area around the eyes clear. However, it may be worn with a separate eye veil.

The niqab attracted the attention of cabinet minister Jack Straw, who said he would prefer that Muslim women did not cover their faces. It is worn with an accompanying headscarf.

The burqa is the most concealing of all Islamic veils. It covers the entire face and body, leaving just a mesh screen to see through.

Popular styles
The al-amira is a two-piece veil. It consists of a close fitting cap, usually made from cotton or polyester, and an accompanying tube-like scarf.

The shayla is a long, rectangular scarf popular in the Gulf region. It is wrapped around the head and tucked or pinned in place at the shoulders.

Covering up
The khimar is a long, cape-like veil that hangs down to just above the waist. It covers the hair, neck and shoulders completely, but leaves the face clear.

The chador, worn by Iranian women when outside the house, is a full-body cloak. It is often accompanied by a smaller headscarf underneath.

@cookie - lol @ ninja! kwanza burqa is the super ninja one.

A lot of muslim women are coming out to defend the veil, even teenagers. Most of them say it is a choice. But when they say it is a choice, i am left to wonder how much of a "choice" is this choice? I say this beacause if they were not to wear the veil then it goes against culture. So is it a choice after all?

The prime minister Tony Blair has voiced his opinion about the veil. He may soon face a lawsuit after a teacher assistant lost her job because she refused to remove her veil.

In america. Its not an issue why europe? europeans are too conservative. its a free world and as long as its decent its all good. Germany wanted to prohibit religious clothing in passport photographs.

Its a matter of choice if the woman wants to wear the niqab, shayla or what ever it's her choice! But what happened in France by banning the hijab in schools was too much! The west always says that they respect human rights, then why can't they respect the right of a woman covering her self, does she have to be butt naked
