I am made to understand by a good friend that those people who bomb themselves and others in the name of religion are either criminal or have misinterpreted the religion or are brainwashed.

My question is are there Africans who blow themselves, i mean like real Africans, black hard hair and all( i know of North Africans who refuse to be called Africans).
If there are there, where did it happen?If not why not?

Is it possible that neither of the above happens to them or they cannot be religious and the above.
I am honestly just curious.
Anybody with such one case. By the way a correction the Jungu McVeigh didnt blow himself he lew up others in a 20+ storey building kids and all very gory but he was killed baadaye(death sentence).
This leaves Asians and still why.
Anyway know of another case/race maybe chechnya etc

Which Asians are you talking about? South Asians or East Asians?

South Asia: Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam)- Suicide Bombings.
East Asia: Japan's Kamikaze Pilots.

As for why, who knows?
The textbook reason for the Tamil Tigers is that theirs was a political cause. But does that really explain why someone would choose to kill themselves?

Africans(blacks) are obsessed world things.They can't just believe that we are not here to stay,we have to go one way or the other.Commiting suicide is a fantasy to some people.I had another friend who told me that life here on earth is boring.Doing same thing generations before did,as go to school,get married,get a job,get on retirement plan,and you gone.he said thats too long,he was rather cut it off as soon as he finishes his teen age.

Like i saw the snap of the guy who died at Kikambala when they bombed that tourist lodge the gys head was just ling there and guess what he was Asian.Even in foreign lands, as i said before it's all brainwash but i guess the Africans are incapable of that.

About Asians i was talking asians yes from Bali(S.E) to Sri Lanka(South) to Jordan(Middle East). Sri Lanka is political yes, but most of the rest is religious based all the same it's SUICIDE BOMBING.

Give me an African incident. Religious reasons or political will suffice.

@coach: oh yeah... now that you mention it, i vaguely remember hearing about that. the news we get here is very skewed. plz remind me: what happened to the 4 men?

for me, the london underground saga is still murky waters. is it just me or was there alot that was said/ done, and later retracted/ regretted? the british seem to have a shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later approach.

i have a feeling (based on the stuff i've read here) that some ppl will claim that eritreans, somalis and ethiopians are not 'real africans'.

i don't think that anything can be tied down to a specific ethnicity any more. perhaps, mwanzoni, it seems localized, but sooner or later it spreads out thanks to this globalization business.

@Prankster: i don't think africans are less susceptible to brainwashing than anyone else. we're among the most-brainwashed ppl on this planet. the brain-washing has been so succesful that most of us are not even aware of it.

maybe the scarcity of african suicide bombers has something with the fact that suicide is one of the biggest taboos for many indigenous african societies. but tradition is eroding with time...
