I also wondered what new word this was and what it meant, but I figure you intended to write profAnation...

I think that a devil is an evil spirit, while Satan is the name of the chief devil in Christianity. So I'd assume that most religionas have a bad spirit that they call the devil, but these devils all have different "official" names...

Actually yeah. The priest pronounced it with an "O".
