Default Compassion International.... - 07-31-2006, 04:03 PM

...is a christian organization that sponsors kids all over the world. A local christian broadcasting station had one of its broadcaster, Brennan, accompany members of this organization to mission visit in Nairobi. Being his first trip outside the US, and having been taken to the slums of Kibera, Mathare and Dandora, he had a life-changing experience. See his blog with pictures, comments and radio calls in the link below.

Cookie, try "Children International". You pick a kid u wanna sponsor. u can choose the sex and age as well. They send u pics of the kid and inform u of her/his progress.

Unfortunately, currently they only sponsor kids in Zambia in Africa.

thanks mogaka,
i checked them out in the ministry watch website but they are not there.

i found similar ones.

http://www.ministrywatch.org/mw2.1/F...?EIN=000000184 has operations in kenya. http://www.cfcausa.org/wherewework/cp_kenya.jsp

http://www.ministrywatch.org/mw2.1/F...?EIN=911704751 also in zambia. http://www.childreneverywhere.org/zambia/index.html

unfortunately, i only give to charities that have good efficiency ratings. a lot of charities out there misuse the funds the collect and very little benefits those it is intended for.

the ministry watch ratings are highly valued. i will stick to their recommendations where possible. i'm expecting a windfall soon so i'm looking for some beneficiaries.
