Default God is thy provider - 05-30-2006, 02:57 AM

"O God, I need a visa by Saturday, please intervene."
"I have an exam tomorrow, please give me success."
"The expatriate is leaving next week and selling his limousine. I need it and ask you to grant it."
"A promotion is coming up. Let me get it."
"The fuel tank is empty and I need to get to the airport. Fill the tank for me..."

Sounds obnoxious?

No. Not to some. God this, God that. God urgently this, quickly that. I want, I want, I want!

Without realising it, many people have turned God into their servant. Salvation to some means "God will supply all
my 'wants' ". God removing this to bring that - in order to make me as comfortable as possible.

Indeed?

Before 'give us our daily bread' the prayer goes 'may your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth'. As I
rightly ask to be given that bread 'for today' what have I done about that kingdom? Am I praying it? Do I know
what it means? Am I alert as to how God would have it come?

Think about it. Act upon it. Good day folks.

Kida!
