I know one major source of anti-Mohammed sentiments on this forum has been the fact that many (including me) view him to be a pedophile. That is only natural since he married and had sex with a 9-year-old girl, Aisha, when he was in his 50's.

I have questioned Coach several times about it. Satjas has unleashed countless attacks on Mohammed solely for this reason, saying that it's never justified to have sex with such a minor. TM even started a discussion about this issue, where he asks about "The pedophilic relationship at age 53 with Aisha, a 9-year-old child!!!!!" and goes on to write that "Muhammad lived a less than holy life. His lust for sex, his affairs with his maids and slave girls, his pedophilic relationship at age 53 with Aisha, a 9-year-old child". Clearly this issue of Mohammed's pedophilia is a big issue for him. The discussion is at:

Coach has written endless paragraphs defending Mohammed, from saying Mohammed didn't have sex till Aisha was way older, to those days marrying a girl that young was acceptable or it was okay since Aisha had started her periods by the time they had sex.

Now, I just read that Mary was 13 (THIRTEEN) years old when god impregnated her with Jesus. Thirteen!!! And some accounts have her as young as 11 or 12, and others put her maximum age at 14. This means that it was both acceptable and right to marry and have sex with such young girls those days. One can also correctly assume that there are girls younger than Mary who used to get married and impregnated. So this proves that (1) it was not a sin to impregnate a girl that young if god himself could do it, and (2) Mohammed did nothing wrong by marrying Aisha at that age.

If that's the case, then I dare say that Christians have no right attacking Mohammed as a pedophile - unless they want to level the same claims on god (for impregnating her at that age) and Joseph (for marrying her at that age).

Coach, props to you for sticking to your guns. Lets see what spin the Christians put on this one, since they'll have to vindicate god while still comdemning Mohammed for doing the exact same thing!

What I know is that :-

Jewish men in Joseph's day generally married around the age of eighteen or twenty.
Jewish women could marry as young as twelve or fourteen, upon reaching puberty.

Some serious statements here. If God 'impregnated' Mary then the commandment concerning coveting others wives has to be trashed as God himself sidelined Joseph......why didn't God simply bestow Joseph with more machismo and let nature take its course??

Secondly if the big cahuna, God can screw a 13 year old then we should trash laws concerning paedophilia. C'mon, if God can do it why not anyone else?? Yeah then MoohamMad did exactly what God did, no holds barred.

Thirdly, when will we all trash this religious baggage and use common sense, logic and rationale and be human???

So why is it not an issue with you when Joseph marries a 11-year old Mary, while it is an issue of monstrous proportions when Mohammed marries a 9-year old Aisha. Why did you rip apart Mohammed when he did it, then suddenly deem it to be OK when your god does it? Why is Mohammed's pedophilia a valid reason for you to start a discussion, while Joseph's pedophilia is an immature reason for me? Why are you just curious when you ask your questions, while I'm this immature guy who needs to "growup" when I ask similar questions? Why the hypocrisy and the double standards?

TM, you arrogantly assume that yours is the only correct way, and that other people who have the time to write about what they don't believe in are wrong. Your above argument is invalid. How can you sincerely believe that intelligent man should only write or argue about what he believes in? BTW we both come from the same position. None of us KNOW if god exists, the difference is I DON'T BELIEVE he exists, you BELIEVE he exists. Period! So we are both arguing about something which very well may not be there. About the "growup" - you have read everything I've written over the last 2 years, and you have responded to almost everything I have written over the same 2 years. My writings have all been about something I do not believe in. If you have such beef with my writings only because I write about something I don't believe in to the point of telling me to "growup" - why do you bother reading EVERYTHING I write? I don't really know much about this kinda stuff, but i think that God's plan was to have Jesus born from a virgin.

If what TM says is true "Jewish men in Joseph's day generally married around the age of eighteen or twenty", then it makes perfect sense why God got Mary pregnant at an early age (before she got PG from somebody else)--plus she was already betrothed to Joseph.

I don't think Mary was less than 14 when that happened. I have been to catholic schools all my life and i've always been under the impression that she was 15.

Thanxs for the question.All I say is that,we are all products of our societies.And this societies dictate to us stuff like,you can't sleep with a female who is under 18.I just don't get the logic behind this.Is see so many females(over 20)who behave and act just like 10 year olds.The whole question reminds me of one song(in Shona) by Oliver Mutukudzi,"******* don't grow old but people do"

In most cultures, a female is considered an adult when she hits puberty. Biology also supports this as girls can get pregnant when they start mentstruating. Most Kenyans have grandmothers or great-grandmothers who were married at a very young age. But unfortunately some people resort to intellectual dishonesty when they have an agenda; sajtas and TM are good examples of this.
