Perhaps you have heard it from the pulpit of your church or from just any other other you thought was very much saved, "that God helpes those who help themslves."

I have read my bible for some time now and finds absolutely no evidence of such claims, which are made by some people who profess to be ministers if the lord's word. Some of them even hold very important titles in the church.

Maybe its just me,but my take is that that if Gos helps those who help themselves then is there any need for God in our lives? If we were to truely beleive that God only helps those who help themsleves.IS this another one of those corrupt teachings gaining fame in the church or actually a new revalation?

Let me respond to that by paraphrasing something I read the other day:

"...If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day but if you teach him religion, he will go hungry choosing to pray for a fish instead of go out and fish..."

So the gist of the teaching is, God will help you when you NEED help not necessarily when you want it. If you have the ability to go out and fish, but choose not to instead sit on your ass and pray for fish, the reality is you don't need help, you just don't want to make an effort.
