Give to Caesar what is owed to Caesar and give to the Lord what belongs to Him and keep what was/is rightfully yours.

In simpler terms, our good Lord does not recognise taxes just as the KRA won't factor in tithe. But both know that you invested money to get a return.

So calculate your net profit before tax, deduct a tenth and give it to the church. Then from the original net profit, figure out how much the beloved taxman is going to take you to the cleaners for, pay up and all's well with the world.

Easy peasy :D.

legally speaking its the amount that you receive in your pocket/bank.
kitambo they used to tithe the harvest and not the produce in the shamba. to put it in a simpler manner dont count your chicks before they've hatched.

By the way since giving tithe is an act of worship....give cheerfully and to the ability that God has enabled you to give....give even more. Someone should never make it a 'legalistic religious ceremony'. gain remember that If you give everything and you have no love ...you are just an empty gong.

My personal view....tithe the gross less all statutory deductions (taxes, Paye)...BUT don't include volunturary deductions (loans etc)

to add to your statement, net means after state/federal/city tax. not after all other deductions- health insuarance, 401K etc etc

show me a pastor/preacher who says you should tithe gross and i'll show you a conman.

I guess the next question is, Do you saved chaps or strong believers here actually tithe 10% of your net income?

Also, what if tithing 10% will really screw up your budget, are you still meant to tithe 10% or will your respective gods understand if you only tithe what you can afford, even if it's 0.001%? I think you have to be an absolute nutcase to tithe 10% then end up living on the street coz that 10% constituted some of your rent or mortgage.

YES

Its always funny that you don't notice people who spend much more than 10% of their income on one of the following:- booze, drugs, cigarattes etc etc which only ends up destroying their bodies.

Funny isn't it. Who is the nutcase?

Surely salvation is foolishness to guys who are perishing.

'Press down, shake it together and running over He will give to you...'

there's something about tithing that ensures my pockets don't run dry, maybe its just a belief... but works for me all the time! I give and I get more.
