Default Stem cells, Christianity and the Bible - 05-27-2005, 01:31 AM

What should the Christian approach to stem cells research be? And what if any reference in the Bible could be attributed to this?

Hey DGET

....with caution.

I reckon stem cells are the creation of the devil, and we all know the devil was not created by God cos if He did then He is having a hell of a time trying to get rid of His frankenstein monster......who said God was All powerful, huh? But back to my point, so the devil uses these stem cells to propagate sin.....we are born in sin, the bible says, further strengthening this theory. Stem cells are a curse for they give rise to more followers of the devil. These stem cells seem to have a mind of their own, they can develop into anything, which kinda makes God look silly since He appears to have no control, what a Control freak eh? Maybe I will have to have a word with God....

Every type of technology can be used for good or evil purposes. Nuclear physics has given nuclear energy and also nuclear bombs. You can use a knife to kill someone or cut your vegetables.

Stem cell research could open new doors in helping cure illnesses and also improve the quality (physiological) of life for humans. Stem cells don't necessarily have to be from foetuses but can also be derived from the cells of an adult (although the cells from a foetus are easier to work with). The future seems bright and like any new technology, it comes with its ethical dilemmas.

i believe the stem cell debate is way over hyped for political gains. i support dubya's stand that we should not destroy life to save life.

i am against the use of destroyed featal cells as a source of stem cells. and that is what the bible calls the destruction of life. i support the use of adult and placental stem cell transplant research.

i believe the use of stem cells to create new life will fail.

should anyone think otherwise you can put your money where your mouth is {Aastrom Biosciences Inc. (ASTM) , StemCells Inc. (STEM)}

I Think embryonic stem cell research is what is raising issues its a very tricky situation i think mixing of stem cell research and the abortion debate has led to some people opposing stemcell research i for one dont think stem cell research is anti christian .God gave us dominion over everything on earth and gave us the wisdom to come up with ways of treating disorder and diseases..so as a christian i am for stem cell research . now where the stemm cells are obtained from is the issue . but i think stem cells are now being gathered from the birth cord of new babies so there should be a problem .
