"Saved" Kenyans Abroad lie!! Why????? -
04-26-2004, 10:34 AM
A lie is a lie no matter how minor it is. It is against the Ten commandments, "Thou shall not lie."
To saved Kenyans abroad who work 'bila makaratasi': How do you explain this to your employers????
And these 'saved' Kenyans are so zealous in condemning other Kenyans who are not 'saved' that they are sinners.
There are other 'saved' Kenyans who have 'funga ndoa' kwa sababu ya makaratasi. How can a 'born again' christian take such serious vows knowing well it's a plain lie/perjury??
In my perspective, 'Salvation' is a so hard thing to acquire and live up with, according to how it is outlined in the New Testament. The only person who could meet the standards of salvation was Jesus Christ Himself, since he had power from God to heal, perform miracles, 'exocise' demons etc....
The rest of the Christians, 'saved' ones just try to be like Jesus Christ, but they can't, no matter how they try or what they do.
Again it is utterly myopic for 'saved' people to live in dire denial of earthly happiness, pleasures, and enjoyment, in a blind hope to live well in heaven/eternity.

Not to defend the Obviously sinful things Christians do but to enlighten you on the wondeful nature Of salvation..We do not work at it ,we get It as a gift...By the grace Of God ( those who say or suggest that we work at It do mislead you) ..it Is like an overly expensive gift that you cannot afford that you get for free...You can work your whole Life and never get it but when you are given by someone who has more than enough to share ,and accept It, then You get It easy...And that is why if you accept christ's death On the cross,as an act of love, and as a gift from God< that wipes away all our transgressions from God's judgement boook, and therefore removes death (We get eternal life guaranteed) you are saved...
Jesus christ Is the way ( the Only way) the truth and the Life <no one gets to The father but through HIm.
Salvation is as simple and as Hard as John 3:16
God so Loved the world that He gave His Only begotten son, that whosoever BELIEVETH (the Only condition)In Him shall not Perish but Have everlasting Life..
No where does God mention working there
Now Moving On to sin in Believers and non believers
After salvation,(Christ Having done alL ) the life of a christian can Be a glorious and fruitful walk In christ or a dead walk...By choosing to continue in sin, many christians throw away their blessings and have a dead walk akin to that of a non believer...God cannot and will not bless any of His children If they continue In sin But will often punish them instead...But that is For His children only..For the Unbeliever he will not much regard their sin since they are condemned anyway ( By not believing In Jesus) but for belivers He will act..It Is a scary thing to fall into the hands of God somebody says...
when you are In sin the devil does Not care what you do but as soon as you believe the ball game changes .
ALl in all,It is better, though very painful and bad,to be a rebellious son than a good bastard...In God's eyes

There are so many crazy things happening in the world at the moment mpaka staying Saved becomes a blessing.
Seriously, when I stay away from church for more than 2 Sundays, I have the worst time ever in my life. The pastor is my best friend. We share about our Christian lives and we pray pamoja. Temptations ni mingi mno. Kwanza we are living in times when people are loving themselves more, gayness is deemed a legit behavior and being a pimp or ho is fashionable.
These are the evil times, Summarized in Jude.

are you trying to suggest that you can only find salvation in the church?
@proletariat. Salvation does not mean that you cannot lie or sin for that matter. As Maumau put it, you cannot work at salvation, it was given to you when Jesus died, it remains for you to accept it.Also, no one can be like Jesus because He was without sin, and everyone is born with the original sin from Adam and Eve. You can cleanse yourself through baptism, done in the name of the Father ,the son and the Holy ghost.
Psychiatrists say that 1 out of 4 people are mentally ill.Check 3 friends. If they're OK, youre it.

Yes, while on earth none of us can be exactly like Christ, but it is still God's will that we mature into a Christ-like person. The only way we can achieve this is by spending more time with God(reading His word, prayer, meditation on His word, renewing of our mind, daily rededication of our life, enjoying & longing for His presence and relying on Him for everything plus doing His will), i.e. being His friend just like Enoch Gen 5.24
Baptism is only an outward sign of what has happened inside a person. Only the confession and the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from sin.

And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God.

Being a xtian I know living right is the hardest thing to do especially when you're doing it in your own might. The fact is we are in a battle here. The Holy Spirit, our own flesh and selfishness,,the devil and the world is battling for dominion of our soul.Important thing is to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit from the word go any time you let go and rely on something else you set urself up for future disaster e.g you come to states and it wasnt God's plan for you now since he never brought you here ulikuja on your own plans then now you have to connive lie cheat marry under false pretenses to survive yes its true what you sow you will reap for God cannot be mocked.Anyway to all those who've fallen hear it form someone whose been there go to God repent and ask him for a way out of this sinful living He cares and understands more than you know dont let guilt/greed get between you and the Father.Afterall what will it profit you if you gain all but lose your own soul. The devil is a liar you're not beyond God's redemption and restoration only draw near to Him and He will bring you out I am a witness :)

Salvation is not a hard thing to acquire. You just have to ask Jesus Christ into your life and put Him first in everything you do. I do agree with you on one point, living a saved life is difficult but it is difficult regardless of where you are, not only abroad. Just today, I did something I knew was totally wrong, even though I heard my conscience telling me that it was wrong. But praise God we can go to Him and ask for forgiveness, which does not mean I sin just because I can be forgiven but I do fall into temptation. As a christian we strive to live a life that is pure and holy, key word being strive, meaning a constant struggle. But I also believe that if we look to God and put Him first in our lives, He is faithful to provide, it is almost everywhere in the Bible. God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him. Like Matt 6:33 says 'seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well'.

Being saved and living the Christian Life -
04-28-2004, 07:31 PM
As Jibril said..the importance of going to church is the fellowship it provides...you get to meet with other christians and share your experiences and gain rejuvination for the week.
Living as a christian is a challenge in itself...yes it may seem foolish...idiotic..to live ones life entirely in the pursuit of reaching heaven and forsake all material benefits. However...most christians despite their hardships..will tell you that their life is content....they struggle...yes...they may not make that much money..yes...they seem to be living from hand to mouth...but they are content.
Proletariat..become saved and live the Christian life...it will be a challenge in itself...but the rewards are in spirit and contentment...and you will find many genuine people willing to help you live this life. Yes some saved christians may not live their life in the best ways...but that does not refer to all saved christians.

I know this KIwoman. She is in church every Sunday acting like a KI-Holy-Joe. You should see how she rolls her ma-eyes ati when she is in 'the Spirit'. Tell me how someone supposedly so 'Holy' is branded the Village Gossip. Yaani, this kichick is the world re-known king of gossip- Larry King kando.
If you are evil, you should perfect your evil habits and leave Holiness to people who can handle it. I can't stand hypocrites.

SALVATION IS BY GRACE -
04-30-2004, 02:02 PM
The bible says salvation is by grace. You get saved looking to Jesus as your master and wanting to be like him, but if you were perfect there would have been no need for him to come and die on the cross. On top of dying on the cross because he knew we were sinners and we needed to be saved, he also gave us the Holy Spirit because we cannot make it on our own. God knows our nature, we are sinful by nature and just as we cannot tell the grass to be blue, so we cannot be sinless regardless of being saved.
am not in any way excusing sin, when we sin, we are to go to the cross and repent and God through Jesus forgives us. But we also have to listen to his voice as he guides us through his word and the holy spirit because we cannot do it on our own. its not by might, nor by power, but by His spirit says the Lord.
