Default Why should we suffer? - 10-26-2002, 04:49 PM

Its well documented that the reason there is good and evil in this world is because of an age old feud between God and the Devil.

It is said that the Devil rebelled against God because he got tired of serving and worshiping under him.

Therefore if the problem is between God and the Devil, why should we human beings have to suffer and then forced to take sides in this personal issue?

My other sub question is this, do people suffer for their forefathers mistakes?

Any ideas?

@chameleon,

Both God and the Devil have the power to control us according to their respective wills, therefore you take the side of whoever is controlling you.

We don't have to suffer for the sins of our forebears. How can you be responsible for what your great grandfather did? However, people remember through the generations the misdemeanors of your greatgrandfather and unfairly hold you and your family accountable. People are not fair. Life is not fair.

Well, that's the 6 million dollar question isn't it? And that is the one curse that humanity is plagued with: You either have to posess faith or risk eternal damnation and human beings geing the fragile bunch that they are, would always go for the easier option which in this scenario happens to be faith because faith has no risks. If you happened to be wrong, at least you are a good person and if you happened to be right, at least you will not burn in flaming brimestone and sulfur for the rest of eternity.
What im trying to say is that in matters of the supernatural, the key to solving the mystery is in accepting it is a mystery and not attempting to even dare to think in the same plane as your maker. You cannot ask such questions of God. But even if i was to think objectively here, the one question i would ask you is to define suffering. Do you eally think you are suffering. in the words of my mentor, B.S.R, "I sometimes look around me and shudder at the thought of how much i will never know. I then try to contemplate the opposite extreme if by chance earth was the paradise that the wise books speak off....."
I put it to you that we are in heaven. and if heaven is this bad, then imagine what hell must be like. Over .

The Bible is a wonderful source of inspiration for those who do not understand it.

"Is this question directed at God or His creation"

It has taken me 1 week to figure out how to respond to your sacarstic response.

I know you are the kind of people who love easy questions so you can respond with easy answers.

I wont ask you easy questions like what jesus meant when he was by the lake. I wont ask you easy questions like what peter meant when he wrote to the believers in corinthia.

This is because I know you know the answers to such questions, I can even bet you that that you know the bible verses that address those issues at heart.

But what is the point of believing in anything if you dont read or analyze it literally?

Do you ever wonder the point of all of this? Do you ever wonder why we are born, grow and then die? Do you ever wonder why the birds fly and the fishes swim?

Do you ever wonder that maybe everything that you believe in is probably a lie, and maybe a scam?

Have you ever wondered why (God) would create such a beautiful world, then allow it to be plagued by all this evil and misery?

Do you ever wonder why your all powerful God, with all his power, spared and still cant or doesnt want to destroy the Devil?

I mean no desrespect my friend, but this are things that puzzle me all the time.

I sometimes wonder if "maybe" life is just a scam and we are all being taken for ride.

Please tell me not.

If you believe in God then you dont have to doubt about His wisdom. He simply created you out of His wisdom that is full of Love. Believe me that no one can survive a single moment without God. Its simple. Gods wisdom.
