I am not really surprised by the federal court decision. It’s been coming along for a while now. Although the ruling by the 3 judge panel of the federal court has brought a lot of controversy from people of all spheres of life, I have to say it makes some sense.

Let’s face it, most of what is happening in America today is simply ungodly. The filth that is broadcasted over most of the radio and TV stations can not be called godly. The political and economic decisions made by the leaders of this country that results to starvation and death by civil strife of millions can not in the least be godly. Theories and hypothesis in the field of science and technology that challenge the fundamental truths of what was held divine by the founding fathers of this land are most definitely not godly. Policies and decisions made by major stock holders in the health care sector that have resulted to the deaths of millions in third world countries through curable diseases are in no way godly.

Most Americans have no place for God in their lives; they do not even understand the concept of God and have interpreted him to fit comfortably in their lives. Why does it surprise anyone that decisions like the ones made by the federal court will be the order of the day very soon? And why isn’t it the right decision, after all most Americans do not believe in God anyway? Why go on with the pretence when, ‘In God We Trust’ has become a statement of convenience rather than a declaration of faith?

Slaggard:
you wrote <america is build sorely on christian background and believes but has evolved to accomodate all varieties. the american constitution does not support the estalishment of any religion, and as long as a religions practice falls with the law books....no problem.
americans love god......they are just control freaks, and their defination for freedom is ...total freedom even to rebel.>
Please allow me to differ. America was built on other people's blood ama you don't recall the history of slavery. Why wasn't God's word "do unto others as you would like them to do unto you" or "love your neighbor/one another has Christ loved us/church" not applied then?

It seems as though God's name is used conveniently. When they were hit sept 11, most business, homes and individuals kept "God Bless America" stickers. Yet when most crowds gathered to honor the victimized families, they had a moment of silence before the speeches vs. a word of prayer.

Check this out..."In God We trust", has killed lots of innocent people overseas in the name of bombing the bad!

NOTHING IN LIFE IS TO BE FEARED. IT IS ONLY TO BE UNDERSTOOD.

Default Who/what is "GOD" According to Americans??? - 06-29-2002, 12:48 PM

Purging the phrase "under God" shows how, what or who God can be viewed differently. Basically many people perceive God as a supernatural being "in our own image" or a certain force.

Atheist don't recognise this "being." America has more than 25 million of them. Humanists, rationalists, realists, existenialists, are manifested everywhere in America population. Their view of 'God' is quite different to ordinary christians.

Jews also, who are more than 2 million in U.S. have a debatable view of who/what God is.

Separation of Church and state is well stipulated in the American Constitution.

According to me, this is a welcome move to refine the constitution, and make everybody feel represented.

It is also a lesson to may of us who have not yet discovered the American hypocracy on "GOD" who for example in Kenya, people believe that he performs miracles, and out of nowhere solves peoples' problems.

It is hey time people know that their "God/god" is in their heads only, and goes nowhere beyond their heads.

Human mind is architectured to perform this role of beliefs that way.

Amen.

P.M
Americans are forgetting what God did for them.Forefathers of Americans, come here because of religious difference in Britain. That belief united them to come and settle here and form a coutry over the hills. That was in the ship called Mayflower.
God again united them expand America through their belief of brining development here through their what they called Mafesto Denisty.Look at the expantion.
If they do not pledge allegience to God,then who shall they do to.The president, pope or any other person. No,not everbody support this people. Some people are Republicans,Democratic, non christians, muslims.
This people also need to pledge allegiece.Since some like the president is the highest post here.Who then shall he pledge allegiance to.
This people are just human who get sick just like any other people. Then at the time ,they are sick at critical condition, who will people pledge allegience to.The court, laws or judge.
The other thing that Americans should be proud for,is God making their money easliy acceptable through out 52 states.By have them entrusted to God,them there is no single state that can claim that the value of dollar is more attritable to them. You should remember when each state used to have their own dollars, some states had valuesless dollars.
That bring us to book of Daniel when he had to pray to God no matter the babalylonian laws.American should like at the ways it had for europeans to unite, even when trying to have one currency.Us example to others coutries,American should continue to pledge to God and not the microsoft or any computer.

Probably people have different ways of understanding History, but your understanding of American history, though I don't feign to be a historian, is causing some impatient.

Do you want to suggest to us that is was not the wish of 'Americans' to come in 'U.S.' but the wish of God? Did they come here because of religious differences in Europe?

Threfore, why they ruthlessly butchered millions of native Americans, Red Indians, why they ferried more than 10 millions Africans to enslave them in their country, and why they stole five States from Mexico rendering mexicans beggars, is yet to be explained by these do-gooders, Holier than thou people.
