Default This is my Lord. . This is my Friend........ - 02-28-2002, 03:45 PM

Glory be to Jesus who in bitter pain poured for me the life blood from his sacred veins. Grace and life eternal I find in that blood. Blest be his compassion , infinitely kind. Blest through endless ages be the precious stream which from endless torments redeemed the world.
Abel's blood pleaded to the skies for vengeance but the blood of the Lord cries for our pardon.
The son of God who loved me and gave himself for me (Gal. 2 ;20)

My song is love unknown , my savior's love to me. Love shown to the loveless that they may be lovely. .Oh my friend; my friend indeed who in my needs spent his life!
Who am I that for my sake the lord should take frail fresh and die? He came from his blest throne to bestow salvation but none would know the longed-for Christ. He came unto His own and His own received him not.
Sometimes they strew His way singing His sweet praises. Resounding all day 'Hosanna to the king' Then with all their breath, thirsting and crying for His death; they shouted 'CRUCIFY!'
Why? ,what has the Lord done? What makes this rage and spite?

He made the lame to run; He gave the blind their sight - sweet injuries! Yet at these they displease and now they rise against Him. A murderer they save, a Prince of Life they slay. Yet cheerfully He goes to suffering so that from thence His foes might be free.
Heaven was His home, mine the tomb wherein He lay!
Here might I stay and sing. No story so divine, never was love, dear King; never was grief like Yours. This is the Lord, this is my friend in whose sweet praise I will gladly spend all the days of my life......

This is exactly what I detest, loathe and speak out against with regard to Christianity.

No one is stopping you from worshipping, praising and singing to your jesus and his othr friends but DO NOT INVADE PUBLIC FORA WITH IT.

You are disrespecting those who do not sunscribe to this doctrine by assuming it is right to just plaster your rhetoric in here.

It is alright when you bring it under a discussion topic but not when you come trumpeting ballads or hymns or prayer-songs about it.

So what next? A Qu'ranic verse? A Budhist chant? Realise that Christianity is not special and the reason that othe religions are not plastering their literature here is because they respect the diversity of worship and cannot impose their particular doctrines here.

Ever hear of freedom of speech...oh wait ..you must've because you also always seem to say what you want however stupid it may sound.
I suggest that you sit back and if someone wants to post something from islam,Free masons D.W's etc etc.....It is their choice.
Then again this isnt your site so start your own.
Each time you post such nonsensical things it just confirms that u R the S.I unit of stupidity.
So please cut the guy some slack Will ya!!!!

MTT, why do we so readily accept cursing and the likes in a public forum and in the same breath denounce religous talk? Its the price of freedom of speech man.
Some one pliz post a Quoran quote and a Budhist chant and a Hindu verse pliz.

" I may disagree with you opinion, but I will die defending your right to air it"

Listen to me. Like your name suggests go play with your mates. We are not on the same level. You want a skip-rope I'll fedex one to you.

IAN

You speak sense so let me try and answer you.

The Supreme Court, recently barred the posting of the ten commandments in a public place-county council chambers or court room on the basis of the fact that they violated religious freedom.

Now, no one says it is not noble to hang the ten commandments on a wall, but do not violate others rights doing so.

This forum here is one where we discuss mattters relating to religion from the validity of the bible to African Traditional Religion etc etc.

What is not right however, is for this religion to go beyond that and attempt to inundate others with its songs and hymns and prayers.

Apparently, people only feel offended if it was Freemasons, Jehovah witnesses etc etc invading public space with their propaganda but they are willing to let christinanity get away with it?

Does Stupidity have a scale requiring S.I measurements? Do you have more stupid and less stupid?

Ng'ombe wewe don't argue like a market woman. That is a phrase I expect from a primary school dropout.

ER....I've never know how to respond to inane clicheism. Try the hoochies on Ricki Lake

The inundiatory nature of religion can not be separated from the religion itself.
Once u separate the two then you are no longer talking religion but rather talking philosophies and ideologies.

"Religion is neccessary for morality to exist."

AMEN

MTT though you may have a valid argument please read above
Conferences - Society & Culture - Religion & Spirituality - Topic #135
Notice the forum is called religion and spirituality. Now if you are neither religious nor spiritual just refrain from reading from this particular forum.
Peace be with you

The Lord is my sheperd
I shall not want
He maketh me
To lie down
In green pastures
He leadeth me
Besides the still waters
He restoreth my soul
He leadeth in paths of righteousness
For his name sake
Even though I walk thru the valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil
For thou art with me
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
Thou preparest a table in the presence of my enemies, Thou anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me in all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever
