Default RE: GROW UP - 12-14-2001, 09:42 AM

wordapeople,
it doesn't have to go there. just let it go, come on. i think solo was apologising.... come on. let's move on.

write back to solo and apologise and stop hanging on to having to get the last word. let's move, let's grow, come on people.

and please i am really begging you wordapeople, if you feel something negative has to be said by you, hold on to it. just let it go.

and please i beg you. think about what all the other people reading this thread will be left thinking about you.

have a good day supajack again much respects but no can't do it.

Default for MARK TWIST THUO - 12-14-2001, 11:19 AM

Mark Twist Thuo,
You’ve said many things that I like. But in the interest of not scrambling the rest of the viewers further, I’ll rest my case. Without a doubt, a lot of what I say sounds like hocus pocus/devil worship/whatever. But….

this post is not about that.

From where I’m sitting, it appears you intend on becoming a political leader in the new future. And just like I said to wordapeople, more power to you. You certainly have a lot of admirable qualities. Just put the books aside for a while, spend time in nature - it balances things – and listen to what I have to say without jumping to the usual conclusions we see here on mashada; although I doubt you’re a jumper.

Being a good leader entails

a. all the wonderful qualities you have already exhibited

b. embracing absolutely all that falls within your country’s boundaries and working with and around it, and

c. keeping the following in mind:

The reason why tetemeko/bib/elijah/iluvluochicks/zimmy/cybercop/the silent majority (?) continue to annoy the h--l out of us is because they need validation. There are a growing number of people in our country who because they feel ‘sidelined’ resort to hate to get their point across. And ‘the point’ may be full of ambitious nonsense from our view, but one of the best qualities of good leadership means taking in the whole vista and working with it section by section.

As yukky as it may be for you a grown man to have to validate another grown man’s self, you’ll find that you’ll have to do it over and over again if things are to ‘get done’ and if the country is to get out of the morass it’s currently in. Anytime the people I have mentioned jump up with their comments, the rest of us (I am also guilty) knock one another down in the race to come up with the most colourful invective against them etcetera.

One day, create a post for them (without looking down on them) and ask them why they feel the way they do, how they think things should change and what it is they hope for. You’ll be surprised (I hope). They are just regular Africans like you and I, who want a meal, a home, a chance to work and grow, feel safe and own something.

And it’s true Kikuyu’s are getting a bad rap right now and have become this mythic enemy. You know why? Because anti-kikuyu-ness unites the rest of the country. ‘They’ may not agree on anything else, but they do agree that without the Kikuyu thugs etc (refer to Tetemeko’s latest post in which she/he details the vices) Kenya would be ‘better’. You have to make them see they are wrong, but include them in the process.

*** and if the rest of you whom I’ve mentioned think this is some kind of mollification for your rubbish, think again. Like Solomatic said, you will die screaming unless you change ASAP.

Also Mark Twist,
Don’t forget the Asians, who have occupied the rank of Public Enemy Number One since before I was born. Yes, there are many ‘bad’ ones, just as there are millions of evil indigenous Africans. The only reason we lump all Asians into a distasteful assignation is because their numbers are few, and the bad ones stand out. But remember Pio Gama Pinto Kenya’s first martyr who died at the African hands of people he suffered with for so long. And there are many more.

As for White Kenyans, I am sorry to say that I am still waiting for some type of action from their ranks. After we were so thoroughly let down by Leakey, I’ve been twiddling my thumbs waiting for them to rise up and say, “enough of this nonsense”. I’m sure there are many good ones out there, but this never-ending silence on their part leaves me wondering…

And don’t forget us, the religious minority. In a few years time, we may become your darkest nightmare. African Traditional Religion must be recognised, and we its adherents are tired of being lumped into satanic categories, always a step ahead of ‘Devil Worship Commissions’, blocking missiles against our so-called ‘powers and principalities’ etc.

Tumechoka. Many of us are educated to the highest western standards, run businesses, hold full-time professional positions and work one hundred percent with our ancestors, holding ATR priesthood positions, welcome throughout Africa and the black world. That’s the beauty of my religion. I may go to Bamako, Gaberone, Ouagadougou, São Paulo, Havana or Nyeri and will always find a community of loving brothers and sisters. Our god truly is able.

Please keep this in mind Mark Twist Thuo because if you don’t, guess what? I’ll run against you and I’ll win. And I’ll terrorise all you Africans, shut down factories, make you cut your hair and walk naked, seal the borders, tear down your stone houses, make you speak one language and shake the sense back into you all.

And I’ll do it by the power of God and my Ancestors.

Fyi: This post isn’t for your eyes only, actually, I should have edited out your name. I just needed a point of reference and you are ‘it’.

I am one of the many who has been watching this thread from the sidelines, but I feel I have to say/write something.

I had never given AfricanT.R. any thought and though I don't think I will ever get "converted", I have learnt quite a bit from the contributions on this thread. Like almost everyone on this thread, I was brought up as a Christian and though I am not "saved", I do believe in the God of the bible. As I have grown older (and dare I say wiser?), I have come to the conclusion that there isn't one right religion. However, I believe w/ all my heart that in this world it is very important to believe in something because we human beings need
a) A moral compass / guide
b) An anchor when the storms of life come - as they always do.

JJS, I don't agree w/ alot of the things you believe and practice, but I do admire you. I admire you for standing upright even when you are standing alone. It is true that us Kenyans sometimes have very "small" minds and thus we criticise and alienate that which we don't understand. I,unfortunately, have been guilty of that many times. Continue standing tall!!!

Relationships are tricky, to say the least! For sure they are not the perfect romances we imagined they were back in our mills and boon days. I think the one essetial ingredient in any successful r/ship is compromise.

...very interesting thread.

i know i may have sounded stupid but at least i tried to air my views and learn. it's too bad that two people ruined it. in fact not two, because one apologised.

the second, like so many of us, had to get the last word and win. ??????

i am also one of those who would have liked to contribute but held back because my posting on another religious thread was misconstrued.

i have been wondering whether any of you read my post "Why You People Never Move Ahead", especially you wordapeople.

this thing was going really well until you had to entangle jujusister in a really petty battle, one which i think will color peoples minds against you and your posts in the future. the battle didn't convinse any of us that your apology was believable, it was just a quick escape for you, due to the fact that sisterjuju somehow clung on to her maturity and make you feel that she and not you, was the one at fault. and that showed how big she is and how small you truly are.

and you fell for it wordapeople, which summed you up in fromt of us completely. you set out to destroy the one person who more than all of you has been remaining clean and without pride in all her posts. she just wants you to learn but you just had to win.

and now, because you know you have been found out, you want to somehow come out feeling you had a battle to fight with solomatic. that is very immature. in fact, i'm not surprised that he didn't come right back at you and tell you what so many of us are thinking of you at this moment and will continue to think of you when we see your posts.

you're not fighting solomatic, you're fighting ninawasalimia, remedios (who may have misconstrued my post and for that i apologise, english is not my first language), you are fighting superjack, felicity, mnm, muramati and all the other silent people african and non-african and in africa and all over the world who are following this thread. it's not just a few couple of humdred mashada users you have to worry about convincing.

and please take this as constructive criticism, because i have no ax to grind. i was reading the thread happily until you showed up, and the negative vibe you threw in messed up not only me but hundreds if not thousands of other people who were reading this.

these other people were big and humble. don't now try to equate your apology with what they have been doing here. you just wanted "your ego oiled".

and solomatic is not the problem and so don't be now a coward and go looking for a crusade to fight with somebody who was making sense, just so you can try to salvage some pride. we have all seen through your actions.

Default remedios my apology. - 12-14-2001, 06:10 PM

remedios ,
am so sorry i messed up your thread it was wrong and there is not justification for it. as for the judgements going around all i can say people are entitled to their opinions. i have no axe to grind, no ego to reach out for as some of you wrongly conceive this to be, no nitpicking on anyone here i barely know you and it would be stupid to do that neither am i trying to redeem myself in the eyes of human beings like myself that is to give anyone of us too much credit. the only one capable of redeeming me is GOD himself. i know better than to act vindictive and uncanny towards people it is for that reason that i apologise.

I must admit that these thread was on another level before it was hijacked.

I hate the way it ended, but, it taught me a two lessons.

1 I thought i knew alot, only to find that i know very little.

2 I am lost and i dont know my way home and i am not alone.

Thankyou everybody who participated, i was hoping that the thread would roll alittle longer, but one thing led to another, which made me realize that nothing last forever. Thankyu everybody who participated +++++vely.

JUJUSIS.... I was out for a while so as the saying goes better late than never. Thank you for your reply to my question.. Yes to all that you mentioned, I listen to my dreams. As for the “answer”. I consulted the oracle in which i believe, which is the (I CHING) and the answer was "my situation is currently fraught with contradictions" so I will let it rest and I know the answers will come through.. via my unconscious or what you call the ancestors. Thanks for the support. You have given me the strength.

SOLO… I must admit the “kabisa..kabisa” bit made me laugh. But you had to get it off your chest. May your path to whatever you seek be open wide.

As for those who are quick to judge solos irritation.. I wonder who gave you the right to sit on that pedestal and judge a fellow human? Opinion to me is a good thing. But when it comes in the form of judging others .. I believe its all negative. We can all contribute without being so judgemental.

REMEDIOS.. Every good thing comes to an end.. Thanks for the thread. I have learnt a lot.

May you all.. those that contributed and those on the sidelines.. Find the courage to face your inner demons and conquer them in this lifetime… hopefully WITHOUT causing pain and hurt to others.
