This should be interesting, seeing that the movie cannot depict "images of the prophet or close members of his family". What's the reason behind this Islamic law/tradition/maxim? I wonder if they'll feature any of the controversial stuff like 6-year old Aisha, or if it will be a very sanitized movie.

It will be too sanitized. Anything abt pogroms inflicted by followers on neighbors and especially the Aisha issue will not feature. Hopefully the Faithful will endorse the movie without controversy.

I can bet the reverse will be true - all atrocities inflicted on followers by neighbors will feature prominently.

If they do, then these producers will make millions at the box office, because I can just see all Muslims wanting to watch the movie.

If the producers score a success, Muslims will politicize the profits and demand Zakat for their fakirs. I foresee trouble in the coming months.

lol. what is this? atlian almost criticizing muslims? wah! jamaa, have you received a blow to the head or what??

anyway, you people need to relax. there's already a film about the prophet muhammad: Mohammad, Messenger of God - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
so this new production is not such a big deal. in the old film they were able to film just fine without ever showing the face of the prophet or his family.

as for why muslims don't depict their prophet, i think it can be a wise idea kiplani. if western christians had not been able to depict jesus as a blond haired-blue eyed man, the world woulda been a much lovelier place to live in. and our brothas RD and Atabong would be holidaying somewhere in Bamburi sipping cool drinks instead of campaigning to take back the stolen black heritage.

anyway, politics aside, i hope in this new film they use real arabs rather than wazungu christians and jews in "brownface" with lips painted a ghastly shade of pink. i've been watching a few of the brownface and blackface type films lately and they're really making me sick.

I have some very harsh criticisms aimed at Islam. I semm to side with them because I always defend Islam from the hypocritical Christians who condemn Islam and Allah for doing the exact same things Christianity and Jehovah do.
