Just a clarification, Me.On. I don't believe that people generally choose who to be attracted to. I was simply saying that if one believed that the average person could make that choice, then they would be terrified by homosexuality because they'd think that it was something they might succumb to if they weren't "vigilant".

my thoughts precisely. that speech of his says a lot more about him than he'd be comfortable with if he was thinking.

you have to clarify whether the mum wanted her to be a catholic priest ama a lutheran, orthodox or anglican priest. catholic priests typically cannot marry (although there are a few exceptions) and these other denominations also have the priesthood and nuns and monks. in addition, while cathos, and i believe orthodox don't ordain female priests. anglicans do. at least on this side of the atlantic. lutherans siko sure sana.

I think she read these paragraphs and decided there was something going on btwn the lines:

Quote:
"Women, from the way I see it, have become too complicated and unattractive in marriage. You don't provide what God intended you to give in marriage. You have frustrated the men so much leading them to trying among themselves whether they will get the joy that comes with marriage".

"There is something very very wrong with women these days. You have failed to handle men the way you should. Men don't see anything useful in you. The job that God gave you, you have failed to do," he said.
He doesn't sound like an objective observer here. Does that make him gay? I haven't the faintest.

lol. si there's a paragraph there where he says:
Quote:
"Parents have a duty to bring up children in a righteous manner and lead them to God. Most of the evil manifested in an adult starts in childhood and parents contribute immensely to it," he said.
that is the brief "how to get to heaven" spiel.

We're all grown ups here so I'll be real blunt with my language because I think my friend brings up an important issue. Suddenly, vajayjay's not good enough, so in a guy's case, he'll attempt going thru "where the sun don't shine."
that doesn't make sense at all, ester. considering that many of our traditions allowed sexual experimentation before marriage, if your friend's theory was correct, then homosexuality would have been a widely accepted practice in our various african tribes, long before mzungu came.
also, if the issue is being sexually active from an early age, then you should include people who get married early in this category of yours. do people who marry early get bored with sex speedy and then have a predisposition towards being gay later in life? if that was the case, wouldn't our grandparents, some of whom married as teenagers, be very ok with homosexuality? the truth is that monogamous sex becomes monotonous for everybody after a while. married or unmarried. and that is why people try to spice up their sex lives or go looking for new sexual partners. or go to church to ask for forgiveness for lusting after whoever.

if someone decides that they want to push the frontiers further and to experiment with new forms of sex that they have not tried before, then it is likely because they have the type of personality that wants to experiment, or because they have been made aware that these new "techniques" are possible and are acceptable within their circle of friends. there is also greater increase in "recreational drug use" siku hizi, which loosens people's inhibitions considerably; making it easier for them to cross lines they might have hesitated about crossing before. in short, sexuality is something complicated that is determined by a number of factors. it can't be simplified into a simple theory that explains "all".

Default God will hold Father MULI accountable

Father Muli should know better that God does not allow us to avoid consequences of our actions by Blaming others.
He is a bitter man with unresoved issues about women.
That is a church with no leadership and the POPE needs to know!!

Men too have their own shortcomings in Marriage. I think lets just say that Both parties have abused the principles that Govern marriage. And that is why the Marriage institution is falling apart.

It is amazing that Father Muli would blindly glide over Men's sins yet land on the ground to scrutinize Women's rot. It is the height of pretence on the part of the Clergy.

Then practically everyone on Mashada is gay, since practically everyone here has engaged in pre-marital sex.

Your friend's argument has to be one of the dumbest one's I've heard in a while.

Fr Muli said men were resorting to marrying one another probably because the women had failed to provide what they should in marriage.

Well, people in olden times didn't live as long as they do today. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to place the average lifespan at about 40 years. Nowadays, people are living until their 80s-90s, but they're still getting married in their 20s and 30s on average, and experimenting with sex during teenage.

One consequence of longevity is that marriages can now be expected to span five or six decades. At this rate, many people are starting to question whether monogamy is outdated. Swinging and polyamory are just a few lifestyles being practiced by mainstream couples. Where do we draw the line? Is there a line?

Furthermore, in olden days lots of children died in their infancy, and there was always a need for labor and defence. Therefore, I can see why relations that cannot lead to procreation would be severely discouraged. However, that's not the reason I'd attribute to the lack of queer traits in olden times. It wasn't there because neither sex was attracted to the same gender as much, to desire marriage with them. Otherwise, do you see how that argument potentially favors the crowd that believes in the existence of gay "genes?"

I understand a barren Kalenjin woman was allowed to 'marry' another woman, and this lady would have children on her behalf. However, it was for customary purposes, inheritance etc...only.
