I do not know where RD somad all these, but in my schools' curricula, no one mentioned that. In college, I was not sure Africa existed.

Also,chances are that I would be repelled by any subject matter that required me to go so many years back. Cud barely recall my grandparents!

But I do agree with him/her on one thing: the human driven intelligence chips will certainly not be progress. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

I realize that Africa's reduced power of violence has been to it's detriment, however, certain scientific ambitions look like they will hasten the end of this world. Where do these folks plan to test all these things?

Inserting a silicon chip in your head does not give you superior reproduction ability. And not having a silicon chip in your head does not miraculously make one sterile so as to render his race extinct.

You might be interested to know that one of the leading centres of research into Quantum computing is at the Kwame Nkrumah University in Legon, Ghana.

And also, quantum computing isn't such a big deal, honestly. Even in the university of Nairobi there are fellows doing research on it, so stop getting overawed by stuff you read on wikipedia.

It is possible to insert a chip into a robot and give it artificial intelligence, but the robot still needs to be controlled and input-fed by a human. Inserting a silicon chip into your brain ostensibly to improve your memory and help you process information faster will diminish your natural brain-power because the brain will have outsourced many of it's core functions to a gadget, more and more as your brain becomes less effective, even this cipher in your brain will need to be controlled by somebody else who has a fully-functioning brain. You will actually be degenerating into a robot rather than becoming homo sapiens superior.

Start from the basics...the first principles of computing and machines...

A human being using free-head/free-hand to compute statistics is less effective compared to someone using a simple calculator...right?
