LMAO that made my day ha ha

But there are some things that just seem to fall into your hands. People cross your path when you needed them most. I truly believe in a hand guiding us, we just have to relax and listen.

Do what they do. Get what they got.

I realized that if I do what everyone else does, I'll get what everyone else gets....and realized I don't want what everyone else wants, therefore need not worry about being the same.

That helped, realizing other people's opinions are just that, other people's opinions, not facts.

When most people give you advice, they will advise you act just as they do. But before you follow their advice make sure you want the results they have. Do what they do. Get what they got.

Find people who already are living the life you want. Learn from them, noboby else's advice will be much good.

That's an accidental situation. You may take it or not. The blind person must choose a different path for his life.
The big question about the chance allegory is …. – Rather, the duality of chance can be seen in 2 ways.

The causality and effect - loosely speaking, taking your example above - For me the student who gets the chance to study chemistry masters in the US, am the effect, so I see this as chance - Question is, would the expat/tourist have offered someone else that opportunity?? To me it’s my chance; to him it was a planned event (without a defined recipient).

For the airplane crash, the chance is the traveler, but the crash was a certainty, in few instances can the crash be linked to the passengers on board. So its by chance I did not travel and die, but someone else did.

The other point is, a discovery is not 'chance' per se - the phenomenon existed but it was not yet unraveled. As long as the 'ingredients' are of this world, going by the 'permutation principles' we probably have discovered less than 2% of what can be discovered. True, chance can be argued for 'stumbling upon', but the more we learn and understand, the more chance favours us.

Probably 1000 years ago, somebody else noticed saccharin, as per your example, but since alchemy was not that developed, that was let to pass, but coz we are now prepared, we noticed and broke down constituents. Same goes for the small blue drug that starts with a V - a tuber with the same potency exists in western kenya I think and central Africa etc etc

Oil in the middle east was discovered as a result of the bible - One enterprising dude, read about Noah I believe, and read about logs being covered in 'tar' or tar-like substance when building the ark. Knowing that liquid transportation was limited, that must have meant that it was the source. Chance? maybe...Understanding that where there is tar there is oil?...Thats more like it!!

Chance and the prepared mind - The 2 cannot be divorced.

It happened in a small company. Boss decided that he needed to introduce health insurance.

One fellow doesn't see the need. He's been healthy and uninjured forever -- why should he pay for nothing?

However, the secretary is trying to reduce premiums, I guess she's not that well paid and every shilling counts. So she tries to recruit as many staff as possible to put our group in a lower-paying category. That guy refuses. She insists for many days. The guy finally gives in and very rudely signs the papers. 2 days later, he had an accident. Was hospitalized. Upon discharge, fee was 500,000/=. Covered by insurance!!!

Every time I see him, I remember how close he got. Those of us who signed up willingly never needed to make any serious claim. Just the one reluctant dude.

Go figure...

The Bible refers to another aspect of human suffering, called "time and chance" in Ecclesiastes 9:11. the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all" (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

Many good and bad things occur to people regardless of whether they are good or evil. As Jesus explained, God lets it rain on both the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45).

Where God may chose to intervene it is usually considered a pure miracle. For example where amonites had ganged up to attack judah and hezekaih humbled himself and prayed for God's intervention.

No i don't think she was going to get any alimony because maybe among the reasons he was been divorced is because he lost his job.Maybe to the woman he was a burden.Alimony is set before the divorce and this works only if one of the spouses is earning more than the other. The case of britney Spears and kevin fedderline is an example. He gets 20,000 every month because at the time of the divorce he was jobless. It can also be changed if the status of the other person changes but u have to go to a court of law.Once the divorce if finalised thats it.If no almony at that time then u can't claim it later.
