"Do you have to say "I love you" or does he have to? Are those the only three words that you believe will convey your feelngs for him? For all I care "I love you" in any language is the mosy beautiful phrase one would like to hear or say, but again it is not everything. My mum has loved me since the day I was conceived, I have never heard her tell me "I love you", yet I know her love for me is irreplacable."

Chotadipo, don't convince urself that u were loved from conception, u MAY have just been another mistake kid, and loved from birth and not conception.lol! The love thing is cultural, even though i dont expect my mum and dad to repeat this daily, I definately expect my boyfriend to remind this every now and again that he loves me. Even though its just not the three words alone that convey feeling, i would still expect to hear it.

I'm sorry i didn't take the time to read through all the responses, but that doesn't change the fact that...

"If you really love someone, you wouldn't have to say it....if you can't say it, then you don't love the person"

@Wantai, I do agree that from time to time it is nice to hear those words, but again saying that you expect someone to mention them from time to time, to me appears as if one is being obligated. That throws out of the window the whole concept fo love.

If you read Nyar Raila's concern, she appears to be obligated to say those words. In itself it has morphed into a fear. This should not be the case as it puts unnecessary pressure on a situation that is non-existant.

You and I are agreed that whether the person says them or not, the person's love for us will ony endear itself through the non-spoken language. The ethereal.

Don't be so hard on him/her...
