It's ok, I undertsand why you'd be bitter. After all, realizing that you're the product of an incestous relationship can be traumatizing, even though it was between distant cousins, a dog and a hyena. At least your genes won't mutate into a mongrel's like Izzydumpie, your basha supreme. Now run along...there's plenty of trees around for you to demarcate for your territory.

Chameleon said,

"My question is to those of you that dont find anything wrong with homosexual relationships.

If there is nothing wrong in being gay (as some of you alweays point out in threads that deal with homosexuality)..then whats wrong with incest?

If people of the same sex can be attracted to each other, then why are you surprised that brother/sister or man/cousin(f) can be attracted to each other.

NB

Mind you I am not supporting Incest, I actually think that those are the kind of lines that nobody should ever cross.

But I always pose this same question to anybody who accuses me of being anti gay. I ask them, is incest normal as being gay?-think:)

I also ask, what makes something wrong or right? Is it culture, religion or civil law?"

This is the most illogical reasoning/argument that I have ever heard. Ati what?
There are reasons why incest has been outlawed. The main reason is biological, ... . Do I have to read my Bio book to you? Spell it out?

>What would you do if you were completely attracted to someone in your lineage?

I tend to think that incest is much more prevalent than people are willing to admit. In most cultures, it usually happens in adolescence when young adults start experimenting without taking into consideration the repercussions that may follow.

Also, one has to define what lineage they are talking about as has been suggested previously. Brothers/sisters in the 20s and above having sexual relations is positively an indication of some mental imbalance. The further you move away from genetic closeness, the more society is willing to accept it.

However, if you subscribe to the theory of creation (religiously), then you invariably accept the fact that we are all products of incest! How else would the world have been populated? Therefore, it would be hypocritical to say incest is a no-no. I don't know about that because if any relation of mine made moves on me, Jackie Joyner Kersee would look like a snail :9

Qwebbo there is something very strange about that. Why are you scared (or consider it a taboo or whatever) to hug your sisters? Are you an African? How do you relate to each other in your family? That is so ***kin wierd.

Chamelion, as far as i know, two gay people cannot reproduce. Science has shown us that inbreeds (begotten from siblings and other immediate relatives) often results in the children being born with genetic disorders. When a recessive mutation is present in the family, inbreeding will increase the chances of it manifesting in this entire family as it naturally grows bigger. These genetic disorders are obviously an undesireble which if not weaken or even kill an individual, will leave him/her in poorer health. And remember the theory of survival of the fittest? The way i see it,whether it is just social, traditional or whatever,by not recycling our genes within the family a greater biological good is served. As the human beings, we avoid weakening our species and eventually dying out. There has been a lot of research done (mostly in the Arab world) on genetic disorders caused by inbreeding.
I know the Greek are allowed to marry their cousins, some Arab societies also marry within the family. Infact i know an Arab chick in Nai who married her 1'st cousin so not all societies deem this taboo.

The gay movement has come at a time when society is forced to be fair and forced to address them. In the past, you just didn't come out. I guess yeah that double standards are at work when you think of the two. The thing is, most people are raised to understand that a relationship btw siblings can be everything (love, hate, jelousy, anger, friendship e.t.c) BUT NEVER sexual and most people live very o.k with this never in their entire lives ever giving it a second thought. I guess society can accept some things but not others. Wouldn't it be scary if centuries from now we had an incest movement??? hehehehe lemme stop freaking y'all out. Anyway i doubt that it would happen. Children grow up with very strong influences from parents and siblings who grow around each other 24/7 and are more likely to veiw each other as rivals or friends as opposed to a gay kid who probably would realise his preference when he meets and falls in love with another boy at age 14 or older. Have you ever thought about some of the tired ass lies that are behind some African customs and taboos?
In some cultures, the son-in-law and mother-in-law are not allowed to touch(i.e direct contact) for any reason. The reason given is that it is a sign of respect. Hehe.... that is not the real truth. When they reach a certain age, some mothers always tell or rather discourage their daughters from climbing all over, sitting on or even dressing in short things around their father. They usually play the 'out of respect' card or 'conservatism' one but whether the true motive or 'unspoken fear' is valid or not, society generally agrees with this scenario. This is not true of all homes but in many, especially African ones.

And for all those in the west planning to have babies and reading up on babies, development blah blah blah, hehe you might get the shock of your life. My cousin 2yrs back was expecting and she was flipping thru this 'How to' baby book and there was a section on 4-6yr olds and their behaviour. Heheheehehe LOL! Anyway so the book asks what one should do if they caught their kids playing 'mummy daddy' in what most of us would deem ...er inappropriate. She freaked out and called me to heckle!LOL! I guess if i had kids i'd probably freak out too. And it give such a hmmmmmmmmmmm answer! Anyway i guess society is not about to see incest as o.k. Is it double standards when you consider gay folks? YES. Personally, like many, the whole psychological aspect of it is just disturbing;sickening even. Besides nature rules and so the whole survival of the fittest thing suits me just fine. The way i see it,why kill us off???????

Do you guys remember the approar Angelina Jolie caused when she kissed her bro at the Oscars??? LOL!
