Settling down is becoming too much of a science

Maze what happened to the days when you liked a girl and she liked you back and you guys settled down nice and easy. Maze nowadays its becoming to way of a big deal, too many qualifications before tying the knot on both genders.
A friend of mine once gave me what she what she looked for in a man before settling down, It happened to be long list that consisted of the ideal perfect man. At some point though i wouldnt her to settle for less, i told her that sometimes it only takes one thing for someone to decide that this is the ideal mate. Nobody will ever have all the attributes you desire in a mate, and if the have then they would be looking for someone other than you.
I think the media has really done a good job in brainwashing my generation, alot more focus has been given too looks, romance and the financial aspect of relationships that the basics have been swept under the rag, case in point; i have never seen an outright romantic gesture between my mother and father and yet they have been married for over 28 years.
Granted relationships arent easy so why make them harder. On my part i have realised that alot of debriefing has to take place in regards to settling down. If i keep waiting for everything to line up then I'll wind up a bachelor for a long time. I think if we keep it simple and not focuss so much wats lacking in the other person then settling down will be much more easier....
