Gado is Genius

I have been doing an article where I was writing about the pillars and springboard of Chritian leadership. If only these pillars can be adopted by the political elites, we would have beautiful leadership.

When I took a break to check what was on the Daily Nation, I visited Gado's cartoon and the guy was right at it. He captured the TRUE picture of what leadership means in relation to the newly inaugurated president of USA, Barack Obama.

In the cartoon, Obama is carrying the whole globe on his back. Then Gado puts a caption to show the contradiction resulting from people misread of leadership: "And they say you are on top of the world!"

In my writing, one of the pillars I see in a virtuous leadership is that: LEADERSHIP is about RESPONSIBILITY; it is not about privileges.

Being on top of the world attests to the privileges while the world on your back points to responsibility. Looked at from this perspective, Obama is therefore not on top of the world, the world is on top of him.

Our leaders translate things literally. They think prestige comes from mercedes limos, mansions and accumulating alot of stolen wealth. They don't realize that real lasting prestige comes from the responsibilities vested in positions. In other words, American leaders work to make their country the best, giving it prestige. That's why nobody gives a hoot about Moi's stolen wealth...except his sycophants.
