A Trip to City Moutuary -
08-25-2008, 03:25 AM
One question came into my mind, likewise one advice to the living also popped up my mind.
Question to both dead and living, i need answers from living peeps here, like Type R, Chipshazijaivapoa, Iyo, Mtoto mzuri, Sanaa, Kukururu and the rest.
Why do some guys die and forget to close their eyes?? Advice....Guys when you want to die remember to close your eyes, its too horrible.
imagine someone is dead but still watching at you eyes widew open!!!!

isnt it more of a personal choice? unless u are unconcious ama u die in ur sleep.
id say its rigor mortis... but that only happens in the joints ( i thnk)
wababa... why do people die with their eyes wide open?
IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED ...destroy all evidence that shows u tried in the 1st place!!!!

Senator, since you've mentioned me, I will attempt to answer your question. Well, the technical answer to your question requires a knowledge of chemical processes and muscle contraction (dispense of ATP molecules to release the myofilaments) to understand, but I'll sum it up as briefly as I can.
The instant you die, your muscles relax- the eyes may be open or closed during this. Four hours after death, Rigor Mortis (the stiffening of muscles) begins. Rigor Mortis goes through the muscles in phases, but the eyes are one of the first parts to stiffen.
Hope that answered your question

It's within their constitutional rights to die with their eyes open, for a fee some will close their eyes on request. Dying is such a big job halafu unawaongezea stress? Why were you looking at them first all? Does someone walk into your bedroom, peer at you then ask the world why you sleep with one nostril open? C'mon...oh just checked, sikuulizwa.

People die with their eyes wide open because they see death with their eyes.
But i have not died myself.

Sen. Barrack Obama, people and other animals often do the same thing. The only time a creature or human dies with its eyes closed is when they die in their sleep. Recall all the scenes in movies where someone closes the eyes of a person who has just died? That's pretty much the case in all deaths where the disceased was conscious until the moment of death.
Muscles are required to keep the eyes open or closed. It depends which set of muscles were in use at the time of death as to whether the eyes remain open or not. As Rigor Mortis sets in, even closed eyes can open of their own accord. Rigor Mortis can also cause such disturbing actions as the body sitting up by itself, arm and leg movement, etc.

wuuuuii this is a weird one and when it comes to the dead closing their eyes, maybe it is a biological process that is dependent on how the victim died that makes them swell in the eyes and they pop out.
