Benga maestro Omondi Tonny is dead.
Omondi died at the Coast General Hospital where he had been admitted after a road accident in Bamburi, Mombasa.
His brother and head of Limpopo Band, Mr Musa Juma, confirmed that the artiste was involved in a car crash on his way to a performance venue. He succumbed to injuries, his brother told The Standard. He said plans were underway for fundraising concerts to offset bills and funeral expenses.
"We are still working on burial arrangements," Juma said.
Fans will recall Omondi’s latest album Jacky wa Tonny. His other household hits include Akinyi Judy.
