I stayed in Ethiopia for one month in 2006 so I probably should know what I'm talking about.

One thing for sure, the girls are pretty. you can't argue with that.

Ethiopian food is nice but takes getting used to. it is quite sour though.

Ethiopians will talk about how they love Africans when talking to an African, but when talking to a European, they are not African. I found that silly.

Too many beggars in the streets of Addis. Honestly I have never seen anything like that.

Also prostitution is way too open. almost every unemployed girl is a part time prostitute. If you are a tourist in Addis, beware.

Appreciate too that Ethiopia is quite isolated from the rest of Africa. the only road connecting Ethiopia to Kenya is a dirt track infested by bandits (although there is a very good tarmac road from Addis to Moyale). these people have't had much interaction with Africans except the hunger stories on TV, interestingly many of which are about Ethiopia. Ethiopians think all of Africa is like rural Ethiopia, a very poor miserable place. many of these pretty but uneducated girls run away from the poor villages to Addis hoping to find a way to make it to America. (incidentaly US visa regulations are not as rigorous there) dating an African guy is obviously not the way to get to the US. tip: if you want to get an Ethiopian girl, fake an American accent and pretend to be Black American. it's all about the money.

However, Ethiopia is developing very fast and the people are getting more and more exposed.

I have met some middle/upper-class Ethiopian babes in Nai, from embassy/NGO families, these are good socially --- you wont have the worrisome issues that you get when dealing with those poor pretty ones who live 20 per one SQ and whose "working day" runs from 11pm-5am.

In USA, I noticed that Ethiopians do not discriminate against Akataas the way they shun "Africans", in fact, they love them and spend a lot of time in their clubs.

I will slightly have to disagree with you on one point.
The younger generations(MY gneration and my mums) of ethiopians do consider themselves africans because they have been exposed to education. So its not all.
Anyways its mostly the very religious(Ethiopians and eritreans are very strong believers in the roman catholic way of life)and the very many encounters with isralites is also another reason as to why they think they are not africans.

Most ethiopians have isralite ancestory, with eritreans its italian and isralite aswell. From the stories i got and the fact that most of my other family are light skinned, my family shows traces of this ancestory. Most of the older ladies,(a big majority) would like to be as close to their religion as they can so they do consider htemselves mostly isralites or italians,which they are, but yes they do forget they are africans at some point. They feel closer to hte middle-east and all.
That most came from as u said egypt ,arabia and those countries.
Another thing with ethiopians is the belief in Haille Selassie and the rastafarian way of life. I am both eritrean and ethiopian and i have an uncle who totally refuses to be associated with eritreans and ethiopians, that everyone should follow Haille and all the bullshyyt. Another reason as to why they dont consider themselves africans.


About going out with africans, well my mum went out with my dad.
Anyways its mostly because of money thing, "africans" are considered poor, all these ladies want is money money money.They come from a poor background, know other girls who have made money this way so they do it. They know they are beautiful and can get the men they want.
If an "african" has the money be sure to know the chick will be there.

Ethiopians are just myopic. I know them. Quite ungratefull though. Even if u give her what the will always gossip at how african u are. My maid is Ethiopian and I make sure she know that she is working for Africans. Laid back character.
