Well, if you settle for the 1st thing that comes along and it doesn't quite fit what you really want then wont you always feel a little cheated? Maybe always have a roving eye. This is especially true when the going gets a little tough. You could start thinking - what if I had held out a little longer? Maybe I wouldn't be in this mess etc...

And anyway would you like your spouse to say that he settled for you?
