Default Chics and Wigs!!! - 05-15-2007, 03:11 AM

I don't know how many of you guys find wigs, especially with black chics annoying (kenyan chics too!). Why can't our women just take care of their own natural hair and be proud of it?? I don't mind some braids but some of those wigs are just too obvious and ridiculous. Have some pride and self esteem ladies and show some african pride!!

poster, so are you insinuating that wigs to you would be fine for, say a young white chic who has lost all her hair as a result of chemotherapy? Just for argument sake.

@MUK, from the context, it sounds as if poster has included all false hair under the 'wig' blanket, or so me thinks.

@moderators, please do NOT allow chemical to view or reply to this thread, for obvious reasons.

Guys easy on mamaz hairs, you’ve no idea how hard it is for a nappy headed sista to look neat 24-7! Infact wigs are a must for every woman’s wardrobe, its how one wears it that makes one look hot or outrageous. With the right color, style and length of wig, you get an instant make-over in less than ten minutes. Weaves are trickier coz once it’s sewn/glued in, you are stuck with it, at least for a couple of hours, even if you don’t like it. Braids are okay as your scalp can still be seen but some ladies keep them on so long they end looking more like unkempt dreads.
I wear wigs on my bad hair days or when I need a different look that I don’t want on my hair for the long haul and so far it’s all been compliments unless of course folks are being overly polite…

I'd rather a bad hair day than wigs. If you are a busy person, short hair is always sexy.

I agree...though i have short hair now not b/c i'm a busy person but it helps. got sick of having to relax, straightening, treatments, u name it. So i decided to go with a short hair-do which looks great..........so all i do is get some s-curls or any other curls in it, get a trim and up i go. No straightening etc...oh and the weaves/wigs are not my thing. In fact if anything they make some girls look older than they actually are.
I have also heard guys complain of having never seen their mama's natural hair...

I personally find wigs a real turn-off. To me, its more an issue of not being proud of your african hair than it is about style. With some chics, its just being plain lazy. I'll take my chic to the salon any day and pay for it than have her wear a wig!
