Kenyan IPO's- AccessKenya -

You have to be frigging crazy to get the AccessKenya IPO being offered at the NSE. 32 million out of 80 million shares offered at Kshs.10 which is a low price but after what happened with Eveready i don't think its worth taking a risk; i took a gamble with Stanbic Uganda and right now iam watching and they are watching back. Safaricom seems like a good bet unless those idiots take it to the LSE which would be an insult to every Kenyan.
For AccessKenya, you either buy and be out by day 5 or you get stuck and end up busted. Last years profit was Kshs94 million and i have this funny feeling that dividends will be in the ranges of 45 cents and the Kshs.320 million raised will make some individual bank accounts fatter.
So whats the business plan behind AKenya? What the potential for growth in the rest of Kenya? The last time i saw a phone line in my upcountry home was like in 1987...which brings me to this idea that i saw at CeBIT. KPLC can make crazy profits if they promoted Internet/Broadband through the powerlines...afterall they have the necessary network....> but seems nobody thinks about the future.
