I read voraciously, in fact, I promised maself that at the end of this year, I should have read one section of the library. Anyhow, I need some recommendations on books to read. I am now reading shakespeare, so that is covered. Anyone has any good reads, I heard someoene mention Rudolf Flesch Kant, I dunno if that is the one, and another Fredrich..?? I dunno the last name. If you have enjoyed a book, not a novel with romance really, just a good book to make u think, please let me know. I have read all Mandela books, Flesch Rudolf, so anything new will be a good taste

Volina (what a name!)

Try James Joyce major worksÂ….@Portrait of the Young Man as an Artist and @Dubliners are my best. Brilliant writer.

Onyo Kali!
If you happen to come across the letters he wrote to his lover, keep off. I have noticed you easily get shocked by certain things. These letters will make kweli2 sound like an alter b'uoy!. LOL

Thanks for the suggestions...Lo, I am not opposed to romance, I am just not interested in fairy tales, but anything with literary value is a great tale.

I dunno where to get the books u suggested, I will check e-bay...Nxele...

Thanks again and would love to read more from others who have read good books. I am a Neuroscience major, so philosophy is a good lead, anyone who has enjoyed this run, hint me.

Start with fundamentals of Emmanuel Kant.Make sure you understand whats on every single page before you flip it.Don't just read to finish, understand the content. The Eglish used is a little tough,so be prepared

Thank you for the suggestion. Anyhow, I am not going to debase my mind and time to deal with ur foolishness, so i will let u rant. Just check ur thoughts before posting. I used to feel insecure by such siku za kale, but I have found the heroine in me and some uncircumsiced mind will just bring a smile to ma face. Makes you look like a kondoo.....chi chiu

Talking of Biographies, I think if you into politics, Nelson Mandela is a good read.

Virginia Wolf, she was radical for her time, but a good read.

Chauncey, it is out now. I am reading one at the moment will release the author when I am done. Maybe I will be on ma way to writing a book too..lo!

Kipusa,

I don't know what you really mean by "great" autobiographies because i think every life story is different and great in its own way. Speaking of which, i'm currently reading Frank Mccourts Autobiography (author of Angela's Ashes). I love reading autobiographies because they are "raw".

I actually stumbled across the book, i didn't know anything about it prior to buying it and i tend to think its much more interesting discovering books without recommendations that way you have no bias..and whats more..the element of suprise always makes it worth buying the book. You know..i wish writers would sell by talent which spoke for itself than all this "all up in your face" critics and blatant advertising.

p.s

If you have the time perhaps this weekend, i could tell you why buying/reading his autobiography made me see "some things"differently along the way its sort of a personal prejudice.:)
