I know of a case where a woman carried a child for her daughter.
Also, I guess the original poster should have asked,
If you were a woman with uterine problems preventing you from carrying a baby to term, would you want for your sister to carry the baby for you?

Thanks Adoor2bang and Neema. Basically i guess my answer would still be no. I would not surrogate i.e carry her and her husbands biological baby (unless there was for medical reasons,no other possible candidate). This is because i would probably get attatched to the child. And this could cause problems for the child as well as btw my sister and me in the future. You never know what issues concerning the child could arise.Issues that only the parents should handle.Imagine the kid getting anry with your sis (like all normal kids do at some stage) and blurting out something horrible like
"You didn't give birth to me so don't tell me what to do!" OR
"I wish auntie X was my real mom coz she's better than you and she gave me life" OR
"I wish you'd never given birth to me. The thought that i had anything to do with you makes me sick!"
You know how hurtful kids can be. And definately, whether you like it or not,it will coz strain on the whole family and y'all know how ugly family things can get. Nope, unless there is absolutely NO other way,let her find a non-relative.
And if as Neema suggested, that Vicki means giving up my flesh and blood.Thats out of the question.I love my sis to death, but that love won't be enuff for my child when her deep hurt and anger turns to the painful question of 'why you gave me away?' A situation that often arises. Besides i can't give up my kid. Thats my kid!

No.
We have too many relatives and orphans in Africa she can adopt! As for MTT's question, I would not put my sister in that situation by asking her to do that for me.
Who adopts African orphans?
Americans rush to adopt Asian babies and Africans adopt mostly relatives in addition to their own huge households so orphans in Africa rarely get adopted.

I would be a surrogate mother for someone! I saw a woman who so desparetly wanted to have kids but she couldn't bcoz her uterus was too small and couldn't hold the foetus, and when i had her say she didn't even care if the child had hands or not but wanted one of her own, i really felt it for her, if i was in her situation i would hope and pray that there is someone out there who would do the same for me.
But what i want to know if you p'ple would do the spinning thing, where you can choose the sex of the child by interering with the genes, chose, there eye color and all that,...... ama even scintifically get a perfect child if you would?? would you design your child?

Dem-gal,
Surrogacy has well been explained by Adoor2Bang very well. So it would be entirely someone else's sperm and egg. I'll just carry the baby for 9 months.
In my case, I would do it for my sister. I would do anything for her and I wouldint be scared of getting attached, I dont know why but I wouldint.
