The truth of the matter is as follows:

Honesty is a function that depends on the following parameters:
1) Value of the found item. After a certain value is reached the item will shamelessly be kept, such as 500 dollars. This continues until the item is such a value that the finder knows that (s)he will be likely to be found out sooner or later then 'honesty' comes tp play e.f. finding a million dollars.
2) Witnesses. Everyone will be honest if they are seen finding something. If they are not seen it is very likely they will hold on to the item!

The first thing is you can't deposit it because under Federal law, anytime someone deposits more than US$ 10,000, an automatic background check kicks in and you are liable to be asked where you got the money from.

The best thing is to get a shady tax lawyer to funnel the money out of the country for you to a numbered account and then you are home free.

More on the $100,000. The cops at first said thay would call her if they got more info on the owner and also said they would give her 30,000 if they money went unclaimed after duration of time.

Now she says they called and said the money was run through some analyzer of soughts by a security firm and actually turned out to be fake after all.

I personally think honesty doesnt pay since the cops seem to have decided to keep the whole loot for themselves. Its not like she can claim it and they cant run a found add for 100 grand cash!!!
